A community motorcycle ride at Cycle Gear will support Gabby, a 20-year-old correctional officer facing a long recovery after a devastating crash on the way to a work meeting. Her bike hit a tree, she was thrown more than 100 feet, and she struck several trees before being airlifted for emergency surgery that saved her right leg. She sustained a severely injured right leg, a broken left leg, a broken left arm and shoulder, multiple fractures to her face and skull, and fractures to her lower spine. She required six units of blood and spent a month in intensive care. She cannot walk and depends on continual care as rehabilitation begins. The ride raises funds to help with medical bills, therapy, equipment, and everyday expenses. The accident happened the same week she was to enroll in health insurance through her job, so she has no coverage through work, did not qualify for FMLA, and has no income while she heals. Her mother, a single parent, is caring for her at home in South Carolina while working two jobs and supporting a younger brother. Organized by Strange Ones Motorsports, the event welcomes riders of sportbikes, cruisers, touring bikes, and trikes, along with supporters who want to stand with the family. Support can come through registration, raffle participation, silent auction bids, donations, and sharing the message, all to help Gabby focus on healing and work toward walking again, returning to her career, and getting back on a motorcycle.

She Tris marks its 10th anniversary with an all-women sprint triathlon and additional race formats at Carnes Crossroads, created to welcome first timers and seasoned athletes in a positive, supportive setting. The women’s triathlon features a 250 yard pool swim that snakes through the lanes from one end to the other, followed by a flat three loop 8 mile bike course on neighborhood roads that are open to traffic with typically light flow, and finishes with a flat 2 mile out and back run on community paths with partial shade. A swim cap is provided. Athletes can also choose the women’s duathlon, beginning with a 1 mile out and back run, then the same three loop 8 mile bike course, and closing with the 2 mile run. The women’s aquathlon removes the bike portion for a streamlined swim and run at 250 yards and 2 miles. A dedicated girls event is offered with age appropriate distances. Ages 4 to 6 take on a 25 yard swim, a 1 mile bike, and a 1 mile run. Ages 7 to 9 complete a 50 yard swim with the same 1 mile bike and 1 mile run. Ages 10 to 12 race a 100 yard swim, a 3 mile bike, and a 1.5 mile run. Ages 13 to 14 follow the same 100 yard swim, 3 mile bike, and 1.5 mile run. Registration includes a complimentary training plan, informative clinics, group training support, a She Tris swim cap and shirt, finish line photos, a finish line celebration with family and friends, and a finisher keepsake. Virtual participation is available for the triathlon, duathlon, and aquathlon, allowing athletes to complete the distances anywhere and upload results, with virtual results excluded from awards. An airsoft big game with MilSim elements sets the stage for all-day missions supported by multiple props and collectibles. As the first event in a new series, the storyline is driven by player decisions on the field. Registration and chrono are available on Friday, with additional registration periods over the weekend. Saturday features a mandatory safety briefing that also covers game rules and layout, and an additional wristband is given at the end of the briefing. Evo 1 runs during the day on Saturday, followed by a night game with details to be announced. The action continues on Sunday with Evo 2. Two opposing teams take the field, Titan Industries in camo and Ares Axe in civilian attire.

2026 Summerville Oktoberfest
Set in Hutchinson Square, this family-friendly Oktoberfest brings downtown Summerville to life with a large lineup of food trucks, more than 100 local vendors, live music, and activities for kids such as crafts and games. Enjoy chilled German beer along with other beverages, with food and drinks sold separately. There is no admission charge. Hosted by the Summerville Evening Rotary Club and the Summerville Oakbrook Breakfast Club, it offers an afternoon of food, shopping, and entertainment for all ages.
Hutchinson SquareOverland South Fall 2026
South Carolina’s flagship gathering for overlanding, camping, and off-road exploration takes place twice a year in spring and fall. This family-focused weekend campout welcomes enthusiasts arriving in camper vans, 4x4s with rooftop tents, adventure bikes, RVs, or classic tent setups, with the freedom to choose a campsite beside a scenic Lowcountry lake. Activities typically include a raptor flight showcase from the Birds of Prey Center, combat archery, Serpentarium presentations, an RC course, laser skeet, live blacksmithing, a kids fossil hunt, mushroom foraging, fish printing, hands-on off-road workshops, raffles, a night vision demonstration, and scavenger hunts.
