At the TNR Community Cat Clinic at Dorchester Paws, services are offered on a first come, first served basis. Check in is required and late arrivals will not be accepted, and participants are asked not to block the gate entrance. Each car may bring up to two cats until the clinic reaches a total of 30. Cats must be from within Dorchester County and must arrive in traps or they will not be accepted. Personal pets cannot be accommodated, as these resources are reserved for community cats. The fee is $30 per cat and includes vaccines, an ear tip, a microchip, and spay or neuter. You will pick up the same cat you brought later that day, and the only information provided will be the microchip number. Cats should be returned to their exact location the following day, and an instruction sheet will be provided. Participants should be ready for an open water swim and for cycling on roads that remain open to traffic. Registration is $70 per race and there is no race day registration. Packet pickup is available on site on race day. Athletes receive one t-shirt for the series. Water stations will be set along the course, and bringing pre-filled bottles is encouraged. Bibs are required, body marking is not provided, and lost bib penalties apply. Starts are organized in waves. Bringing basic tools for on-site bike repairs is recommended. A post-race awards ceremony will take place at the venue. This event welcomes triathletes of all experience levels. Accessible parking and an accessible portable restroom are available. The swim begins with a wading start, with Charleston County Parks Emergency Services stationed on the water and along the shoreline. The bike course travels both inside the park and on nearby city roads, and the run uses two loops within the park on paved trails and roads. Law enforcement officers will staff the on-road sections for safety, and emergency personnel will also be positioned along the lake bank.

Cast a line at a back to school fishing tournament at the Mount Pleasant Fishing Pier in the Town of Mount Pleasant, SC. Entry is $45.00 per angler and includes breakfast at registration. Registered participants receive a Mount Pleasant Pier fishing license valid for the day, on-pier guidance from South Carolina DNR staff along with Angling Women and Fishing Club volunteers, and a back to school swag bucket that includes a DNR fishing ruler, bait, a fishing license, and a fishing shirt. Registration is limited to 150 anglers, and shirts are guaranteed only for those who meet the posted guarantee deadline. Families are welcome. Each youth angler must have an adult present, and adults only need to register if they plan to fish. Bring your own rods, since each rod must be registered to participate. Help reduce waste by bringing a reusable water bottle, with refills available for all registered anglers. Treats and awards are planned. CDC guidelines will be followed, and there are no refunds because this charity event supports kids in the community.

The Cast Off Fishing Tournament at Folly Beach Pier is part of a season of friendly competitions held at both Folly Beach Fishing Pier and Mount Pleasant Pier, presented by Charleston Cotton Exchange. Anglers compete for awards recognizing the three heaviest individual catches, the top youth catch for ages 12 and under, and the best combined weight from five fish. Each angler can win only one category, and participants ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up happens in person on the morning of the tournament. Registration fees are $12 for ages 13 and older, $9 for military members, $9 for seniors ages 60 and up, $9 for youth 12 and under, and $5 for fishing pass members. Parking at Folly Beach Pier carries an additional fee, while parking at Mount Pleasant Pier is free but limited.
