Mount Pleasant Summer Open

At Pickleball Kingdom Belle Hall, this tournament features two ways to compete. Players can enter a Minor League Pickleball team event or sign up for men’s or women’s doubles, and it is possible to do both. Divisions require an even number of teams. If the final team to register creates an odd total, that team will be placed on a waitlist until another team signs up. If no additional team registers, a full refund will be issued. Fees are $65 per player for the MiLP team event and $60 per player for doubles. Players who also register for MiLP receive a $20 per person discount on the doubles entry and can contact the tournament director for the coupon code. The Minor League Pickleball format uses teams of four, two women and two men. Each match includes four games to 21 points, one women’s doubles, one men’s doubles, and two mixed doubles. If the match is tied 2 to 2, it goes to a Dreambreaker tiebreaker with rotating singles every four rallies until one side reaches 21 and wins by two.

JJ Grey & Mofro

This performance spotlights JJ Grey, whose songs trace a journey from early cover gigs behind chicken wire at a juke joint on Jacksonville's west side while working at a lumberyard to sold-out appearances at major venues and festivals. Since his 2001 debut Blackwater he has built a body of funk-steeped rock and Southern soul, writing vividly drawn, personal stories with universal themes of redemption, renewal, hard luck, and inner calm. His new release Olustee is his tenth album, his first in eight years, and the first he has produced himself, filled with people and legends from his Florida roots. Onstage he often blends celebration with reflection, pairing earthy grooves with thoughtful lyrics and a rugged baritone delivered with revival-like intensity. At the heart of it all is a clear message... respect the natural world, be present, and do not forget to have a good time.
