The 23rd annual care • give • run welcomes runners, walkers, families, and friends for a community celebration with a Back to the 80s theme at Palmetto Islands County Park at the Big Oak and Sweetgum Shelters. Every registration supports Carolina Children’s Charity and helps Lowcountry children living with birth defects and childhood diseases. Carpooling is encouraged, and a per-person park entry fee applies unless covered by a Charleston County Parks Pass. The 5K follows a partial trail route across grass, paved paths, boardwalks, sand, dirt, and roots, and fast-paced walkers are welcome. Registration for the 5K ranges from $25 to $45, with an official event T-shirt included on most ticket types. The Family Fun Walk ranges from $20 to $40, and raising $50 or more earns a complimentary CCC T-shirt. Children ages 3 and under participate at no cost. Every participant receives a finisher medal.
