Experience Cherokee history and culture at Red Clay State Historic Park in Cleveland through demonstrations, traditional dancing, live music, and more. Savor frybread, take part in a traditional dance with the Warriors of AniKituhwa, and enjoy performances by Cherokee artists. Admission is $5 per vehicle and is collected in cash at the gate. Accessible parking is available through the main park gate. For comfort and convenience, bring cash for admission, food, and crafts since many vendors accept only cash. Seating is limited for performances and the stickball game, so a personal lawn chair is recommended. Plan for warm weather with a refillable water bottle, with drinks available from food vendors and a free filling station inside the Visitor Center. Sunscreen and sunglasses are helpful for sun protection, and comfortable walking shoes make exploring the park easier.

Cleveland’s 4th Annual Beer Mile returns, sponsored by Blackhorse Pub and Brewery and presented by Terra Running Company and Mash & Hops. The course runs along First Street from Mash & Hops to Ocoee Street, then back toward Church Street, repeated for four laps to complete a mile. At the start of each lap, participants drink a 12-ounce can of Blackhorse beer in the designated area in front of Mash & Hops before heading out, for a total of four beers during the race. Registration is capped at 70 participants, and awards will recognize the fastest runners and the quickest chuggers. The event is organized through a collaboration among Terra Running Co, Mash & Hops, and Blackhorse Pub and Brewery. Packet pickup takes place at Mash & Hops. In-person registration is available until the race fills. A form of ID confirming age 21 or older is required. Registration features two price tiers, with an early rate of $32 and a later rate of $37. New to the beer mile? Light eating within an hour of the race and good hydration the day before and on race day are recommended. Some first-timers may not finish every beer, and disposal containers will be available near the beer stations. Participants may run at their own pace, but beer service will end after a reasonable period to allow for race completion.

At the Museum & Cultural Center at 5ive Points in Cleveland, this free conversation brings together What If…? curator Liza Blair with crafters and growers for an in-depth look at the future stories they have envisioned and the objects and ideas that bring those narratives to life. The discussion connects to What if: Designs from the Future of Crafting & Growing, an exhibition developed by Humanities Tennessee’s Shared Futures Lab and supported by Humanities Tennessee and By the People: Conversations Beyond 250. Humanities Tennessee is an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the perspectives shared do not necessarily represent either organization. By the People is a series of community-driven programs led by humanities councils across the United States, its territories, and the District of Columbia in collaboration with local partners. Together, these efforts reflect on 250 years of the nation’s cultural life while looking ahead, and were developed by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage as a complement to the 2026 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Featured panelists include Julia Donagrandi of Loof'n Round Gardens, Annie LaVoie of Mouthy Oddities, and Sheila-Renese Williams of Moore Family Century Farm.
