Professional storyteller and author Steven James presents an upbeat storytelling program at Johnson City Public Library, sharing imaginative tales alongside his puppet sidekick, Jeddar the Wolf. Hosted in the Library's Jones Meeting Center, the event blends classic storytelling with a fresh, contemporary touch and aims to inspire smiles, laughter, and creativity for families. Space is limited, and attendance is first come, first served. Tickets are available at the Children's Desk upon arrival.

Held inside the inn’s 229-year-old home, the experience includes tea service, a look at the inn’s history, and guidance on simple tea etiquette. It works well for birthday parties, celebrations, a special outing for mothers and daughters, or simply for fun. Sessions require at least six guests and accommodate up to fourteen. The cost is $25 per person, with an optional keepsake corsage and fan available for $18. Additional, more advanced etiquette topics are offered as well, including dining etiquette, proper introductions and handshakes, and interview etiquette.

The Jackson Theatre and the McKinney Center present a program in the Tales of Our 250th series that celebrates local history and the nation's 250th birthday. The evening weaves together skits, historians, re-enactors, musicians, and more to share Jonesborough stories and community history. Each gathering in this series features scenes from The First and Last Town in Tennessee, an original play by Anne G'Fellers-Mason that premiered at the McKinney Center and was featured in The New York Times. Audiences follow Jonesborough historian Paul Fink, portrayed by Tim Herron, through the big and small moments that highlight the town's place in the American story. This installment focuses on African American history in Jonesborough and includes a special performance of the original play Nancy presented by the Heritage Alliance. Admission is pay what you can. A student performance is also offered, with $5 tickets that include a popcorn or snack pack, and school group information is available. Presented by The Jackson Theatre and the McKinney Center, with support from the Tennessee Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial and additional support from the Historic Jonesborough Arts Foundation.
