Students drive their own car and work one on one with a coach, alternating between three classroom sessions totaling about two hours and extensive on course practice. Behind the wheel, participants work on skid control on a wet skid pad, quick lane changes for accident avoidance, threshold braking with ABS, and a slalom to understand weight transfer. When the site allows, the curriculum may also include a two wheels off recovery and a safe following distance exercise. Classroom topics cover proper seating and hand positions, mirror setup, the concept of the tire contact patch, the theory of weight transfer, long range vision, and overall situational awareness, along with the risks of distractions such as music, phones, and extra passengers.
