Hosted by the Mid South Live Steamers, this gathering invites children and adults to ride miniature trains through Maury County Park in Columbia, Tennessee. Rides are free, and donations to the operators are welcomed; contributions are accepted at the Train Depot at the track before boarding, where waivers are signed. Food and refreshments will be available, with Jerzee Dogs serving 100 percent all beef Sabrett hot dogs, cold drinks, chips, and walking Dorito bowls from a new full sized food trailer that features an authentic NYC hot dog cart mounted inside, a concession trailer they designed and built themselves. Kona Ice will also be on site.

Nature Lab is an enrichment program designed for homeschoolers ages 8 to 10, offering interactive projects and guided investigations in nature, ecology, and science. Each session introduces a new theme that helps students build meaningful connections with the environment. This bee-focused session explores how pollinators support everyday life. Participants will try a bee-inspired dance, learn how honeybees keep a thriving hive, and practice a pretend hive inspection. A half-mile walk leads to the honeybee hives at Yanahli Park, with a chance to spot the queen. Dress for outdoor walking. Because activities take place near active hives, this program is not advised for those with known or severe bee allergies. Bees are typically calm and will not be handled by participants, yet any visit near a hive carries a small risk of stings. The session takes place in the Yanahli Park Building, Duck River Room. This is a drop-off program, though adults may remain seated at the back if they prefer. If siblings attend, they should stay seated and quiet so the group can stay focused. Registration is $5 per participant.

A curated farmers market features local farmers and vendors at the Factory at Franklin. It takes place on Saturdays year-round and is set beneath Water Tower Plaza at the front entrance.

Taking place at the Columbia National Guard Armory, this expo features comic books spanning from the 1940s to today, along with toys, Pokemon items, horror-themed collectibles, Funko Pop figures, and LEGO. Admission is $5 at the door.

Enjoy baby goat cuddles and relaxed farm fun at Noble Springs Dairy. Meet goats, cows, chickens, and pigs as you explore the open farm setting and get a look at a working goat dairy. Learn about the animals and savor a taste of fresh goat cheese from the farm. A guided tour is available during the visit. Admission is $12 per person, with free entry for children ages 2 and under. Tickets can be purchased on the dairy’s website.
