This free community run club meets at Wright Cuney Park. A warmup takes place at the Wright Cuney Rec Center in the Under the Dome area, then the group heads out for the run. Runners, walkers, and bicyclists are welcome, and a group photo is planned. A sign up and waiver are available.

Student athletes carry far more than practices and games. Many are also managing academics, pressure to perform, identity development, social expectations, and the shift into a new school year. Created to support the whole athlete, this no cost, community centered gathering welcomes student athletes, families, and the surrounding community as they get ready for the classroom and upcoming sports seasons. Wellness focused resources, community organizations, and family friendly activities come together in a supportive setting that values both performance and mental wellbeing. Participants can connect with local businesses and organizations, explore experiences that promote wellness, and take part in conversations about athlete mental health and preparation for the school year. The aim is for athletes and families to leave feeling supported, informed, and connected. Hosted by Next Play Wellness, a Texas based mental health and wellness practice that serves student athletes, families, and communities through therapy, education, workshops, and wellness initiatives.

Get creative with a 1.5-hour, kid-friendly painting class for ages 6 and up. Choose between two design options, Pretty Pink or a Choose-Willow Tree theme, and add a candle for Mom. The class is alcohol-free, and only kid-friendly drinks are allowed. You’ll have cups and snack-size items available, but you’ll need to bring your own ice if you want beverages chilled. Beats on the Beach brings live music to Palm Beach at Moody Gardens on Galveston’s only white sand beach. Dance to favorite tunes or unwind by the lazy river with a gulf breeze and water views. This installment features SLAGS. The atmosphere is family friendly and welcoming to all ages, and Shoreline Grill will be open with a full menu and cocktails from the bar. Admission is available as an individual ticket or included with a Value Pass, and guests who spent the day at Palm Beach can stay for the show at no additional cost.

Caregivers’ Night Out is a special evening for caregivers, hosted by the Galveston Arts Center. Enjoy a night designed to give caregivers a much-needed break.

The Galveston Music Collective presents a summer rooftop music series at Hotel Lucine that spotlights local musicians performing only original songs.
