Inherit the Wind

Inherit the Wind brings a classic courtroom tale to Irving Arts Center, written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee and directed by Harry Friedman. Inspired by the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial, it follows a high school teacher prosecuted for introducing Darwin’s theory in class, a case that soon captures national attention as two formidable attorneys square off in a small-town courtroom. What starts as a dispute over science and religion expands into a wider examination of academic freedom, the role of education, and the tension between faith and progress. The drama ultimately reflects on intellectual liberty and the fundamental right to think.

RCDRL UAR September II Remember

The Radio Controlled Drag Racing League returns to the drag strip at Traders Village for a meaningful and highly competitive sixth annual weekend presented by Urban Assault Racing. As the twelfth stop of the 2026 points season, it blends reflection and unity with the speed and precision that define the series. This weekend also launches the UAR Texas Region Drag Racing Series at the venue, placing the spotlight on heads-up matchups, earned starting positions, and cash payouts. Opening night features the Elite 8 edition of UAR Mega Cash Days with a North versus South clash in Extreme Pro Stock, and a 100 percent payout available on both event days. This is a real contest, not an exhibition, with no automatic spots. Positions are earned through on-track performance and consistency, and every lap counts. Early sessions include open Test and Tune so teams can dial in before the full points program. The following day returns to traditional morning and daytime competition across all standard RCDRL classes as championship pressure builds. With the season in its playoff phase and this round marked as race 12, each result can shift the standings and momentum is earned here. More than a typical race, this gathering pairs respect and remembrance with high-stakes action, while the debut of UAR’s Texas Region series signifies both tradition and the next chapter of heads-up competition.

By weaving together movement, mindset work, and open conversation, it cultivates confidence, growth, and real self expression. It is a welcoming environment that helps rekindle a love of dance without judgment. Season 5, Ember, focuses on nurturing the inner spark. Like a small coal with real heat and potential, this theme invites dancers to stand in their strength, move through fear, fight for personal growth, and show up with bold intention in the studio and in life. Expect to train, to reflect, and to head out feeling energized from within.
