When the regular weeks conclude, the top eight advance to the A Division finals and the next four compete in the B Division for bragging rights and possibly a trophy. VeloSouth routes alternate from week to week, and this edition features a 67 mile drop option averaging 19 to 21 mph with VeloSouth. Expect a mix of rolling hills and flatter stretches. Rest stops are available only on routes of 60 miles or more, with regrouping as needed on the shorter options. Ride marshals will be identified before departure from the store. This weekly road ride from the Trek South Arlington store focuses on skill building, camaraderie, and fun on the road. Riders can choose from three options to match their pace and goals. The 26 mile route is a no drop group with an expected average of 14 to 16 mph led by Trek Advocates. The 45 mile route is a drop ride averaging 16 to 18 mph with Jim Rose LORBA. VeloSouth routes rotate each week, and this time the 67 mile drop ride targets 19 to 21 mph on the Cedar Hill_Midlo_Goodland V.2 course. Please download the route files before arriving. Expect rolling hills with some flat stretches. Rest stops are planned only for routes longer than 60 miles, while shorter groups will regroup as needed. Ride marshals will be identified before departure. If it is raining or the roads are wet the ride will be canceled, with updates shared through the Strava group. For safety, a helmet and a working taillight are required. Follow traffic laws, listen to the ride leaders, and ride with care for fellow cyclists.
Century of The Month: Celebrating 50 years of Trek
Arlington’s long-standing community ride returns to the Trek shop in South Arlington with new routes alongside the familiar distances of 26, 45, 100k, and 100 miles. Participants are encouraged to choose a route that matches current fitness and typical pace, and to load the course to a cycling computer before arriving. The century route is self-guided. The 64-mile option is a drop ride averaging about 19 to 21 mph with VeloSouth, the 45-mile option is a drop ride around 16 to 18 mph with Jim Rose, and a no-drop option is organized at roughly 14 to 16 mph with Trek Advocates. SAG support is available for mechanical issues on the road, but it does not provide pick-ups for riders who cannot maintain the group pace. For a smooth day, come with a fully functional bike, download the route files in advance, and remember that helmets and lights are required. Celebrate the start of the Halloween Light Show with an annual opening night gathering at Galaway Manor, featuring the first show of 2026. It is BYOB, and guests can bring drinks, coolers, ice, chairs, and snacks. Halloween attire is encouraged, including shirts, hats, blinkies, and bling, and costumes are welcome but not required. Expect warm conditions early, so plan to stay cool. Parking may be down the street with a short walk back. Please avoid parking in front of the three nearby houses or anywhere that blocks a direct view of the display, as those spaces are reserved for vehicles watching from their cars while tuning to 90.3 FM. Families should keep a close eye on children. Do not cross roped areas or go up the driveway near projector equipment, since damage or electrical shock could occur. Escorts for special photos in restricted areas may be possible depending on how busy it is. Laser pointers and distracting light toys are not allowed. Everyone is welcome. Heavy, dense fog effects will be in use, and strobe lighting will be active. For security, Galaway Manor is under 24 hour video recording.
