Three options are planned so cyclists can choose the right challenge. The 26 mile group is a no drop ride paced around 14 to 16 mph with Trek Advocates. The 45 mile group is a drop ride targeting 16 to 18 mph with Jim Rose LORBA. VeloSouth routes rotate from week to week, and this edition features a 67 mile drop ride at approximately 19 to 21 mph. Rest stops are provided only on routes of 60 miles or more, with regrouping as needed on shorter options. Ride marshals will be assigned at the start. Participants are encouraged to download the route files ahead of time. If rain is falling or the roads are wet, the ride will be canceled and updates will be shared via the group’s Strava community. Wilderness participants must be at least 14 and attend both days, and part of the training takes place outdoors so dressing for the weather is recommended.
