Ruby Tearoom is celebrating two years of CommuniTEA with a month dedicated to BesTEA Favorites, bringing back guest-loved flavors for a special Afternoon Tea experience. A casual coffee gathering brings veterans together at Veterans Lending Group for conversation, connection, and mutual support during the transition to life after service. Attendees can share experiences, enjoy coffee and doughnuts, and take part in a welcoming community that understands military service and its challenges. The gathering is free to attend and also offers free classes that equip participants to support other veterans. All veterans are welcome to find camaraderie and practical resources in a supportive setting.

Garden of Hope organizes hands-on volunteer workdays dedicated to building and sanding beds that will give children in foster care a safe and comfortable place to sleep. No construction experience is required. Volunteers can expect to assemble bed components, smooth rough edges, and collaborate with others while making a direct impact for children in the community. Participants should wear comfortable clothing that can get dusty and closed-toe shoes. Because the work takes place outdoors, dressing for the weather is important. Adults and teens may take part, and children are welcome when accompanied and supervised by an adult. Individuals, families, church groups, businesses, and community organizations are all encouraged to participate. Each finished bed helps provide comfort, dignity, and hope for a child.

Operation Art of Recovery brings artists and members of the military community together to explore how creative practice can support healthy distraction, deep healing, and a better quality of life. Its Expressive Writing Lab centers on therapeutic writing and connection, aiming to build inner calm and resilience. The emphasis is on meaningful time together and growing personal "recovery capital", and original pieces of writing and performance often take shape along the way. Sessions are led by award-winning spoken word artist Richard "Shake the Poet" White and Killeen Creators founder and Executive Director Kristin "Momma Kay" Wright, who both draw on extensive personal experience with recovery through writing and performance. White is a veteran, martial arts instructor, poet, published author, and acclaimed slam poet whose creative work has helped him process childhood and service-related trauma while reaching others through teaching and performance. Wright is a survivor of child and domestic abuse in mental health and addiction recovery who has written poetry and plays since middle school, with several of her plays produced at colleges and universities across the country. Over time, her craft has helped her reshape her story and sense of self. Each lab generally begins with safe-space expectations and a brief icebreaker, followed by a prompt and dedicated time to write. Participants then have the option to share their work and receive feedback, take part in an open mic, and end with a short wrap-up. Writers and poets from the broader community are welcome, including those without military affiliation. Attending in person is encouraged, and a Zoom option is available. Snacks and water may be offered when donated.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Bell County takes place at Liberty Park. Participants come together to increase awareness and raise funds that bolster local care and support and advance research in the community.

Belton’s 10th Annual Bacon, Blues, & Brews Festival offers a full day of live music, bacon-themed dishes, cold craft brews, and local vendors, leading up to a performance by Texas Flood. The band honors the legacy of Stevie Ray Vaughan with the sound, spirit, and intensity that fans know and love. Attendees can bring lawn chairs and settle in for Texas blues, great food, and craft beverages. Admission is free.
