Keep festive pumpkins out of the landfill by dropping them off for a community collection that gives them a second life as animal feed. For seven years, organizers have gathered pumpkins that would otherwise be tossed after Thanksgiving. In 2026, more than 150,000 pounds were collected, supporting their animals and those at five other farms through the fall and winter. The effort is again partnering with the Flower Mound Riverwalk to make donating simple. Only bring pumpkins that are not painted, rotted, or bleached. All sizes and varieties are welcome, including squash. Hay and straw bales are not accepted. The goal is to collect 250,000 pounds to help feed animals on their farm and at eight neighboring farms for three months.
