Drift into evening on a relaxed, social paddle that follows the river by moonlight as the Greenbelt shifts from golden hour into true twilight. The water grows still, the air cools, bats swoop overhead, fireflies blink beneath the trees, and the moon begins to glow above the corridor while boards reflect soft color across the dark surface. Each paddler receives two 2-foot glow sticks to mount up front for maximum shimmer on the water, plus a mini flashlight for added visibility. Before launching, look skyward to see clouds of martins circling a historic iron bridge as they settle in for the night. This outing is not a race, it is a mellow experience built around atmosphere, wildlife, and illuminated boards moving quietly under the canopy. Possible sights include bats hunting at dusk, fireflies sparkling along the banks, the moon appearing between branches, large groups of martins near the bridge, owls calling, frogs providing the nighttime soundtrack, and occasional beaver activity. Wildlife encounters vary, which is part of the fun. Perks include free POP board demos with reservation, gift cards accepted, discounted rentals with advance booking, and a smooth dry launch that is friendly for beginners. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available by reservation only. Wearing an Adventure Paddles wristband also unlocks $5 off a $15 purchase at The Juicy Pig. Bring water, bug spray, a small dry bag for essentials, and a light snack if desired. Alcoholic beverages are allowed, but they must be kept in opaque containers. Experience a pathway from sensuality to spirituality in a session focused on Tantra and chakra healing, combining meditation techniques with thoughtful discussion. Presented as an authentic spiritual discipline, Tantra points toward heightened awareness and equilibrium by bringing together apparent opposites such as the feminine and the masculine, light with darkness, fire with water, Ida with Pingala, and the fierce alongside the graceful. The practice encourages freedom of the mind and an expanded consciousness, easing inner divisions that limit our fullest expression. The teachings clarify a common misconception by showing that sexuality is only one dimension, honored as a sacred offering and a meditative communion, where union becomes a means to know the self through another. The tradition draws on a broad range of methods, including sacred imagery, mantra and japa, movement practices like yoga and mudra, advanced breathwork such as pranayama, and more. Saturday morning sessions move step by step through key concepts to help participants integrate these tools into daily life, cultivating deeper connection to being, skillful love, and a more conscious, healthy, and whole way of living. Instruction follows the ancient lineage and preserves its essential teachings. On select Saturdays, alternative workshops may replace this meditation and pricing may vary. Class fee is $20. Set out on a relaxed, guided six mile paddle through the Elm Fork of the Trinity River as the Greenbelt Corridor shifts into fall. The route meanders past sandy banks and quiet bends beneath tall river-bottom trees, with unhurried time to take photos, watch for wildlife, and soak in a canopy turning to shades of gold, amber, copper, and rust as the air cools and the season changes. The day begins at the launch with check-in, gear setup, and a brief safety talk before heading downstream. The group moves at an easy pace with plenty of stops, including a break for lunch, and passes the historic Old Denton Bridge along the way. Keep an eye on the banks, sandbars, trees, and sky for river otters, beavers, great blue herons, egrets, belted kingfishers, red-tailed hawks, bald eagles, owls, turtles, and other river life. Wildlife sightings vary and are not guaranteed. This outing is beginner friendly and welcomes individuals, couples, families, and groups. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available by reservation, with reserved equipment ready at the launch. Plan to bring a PFD, plenty of water, sunscreen, lunch and snacks, clothing that can get wet, water shoes or secure sandals, a dry bag for valuables, and a phone or camera. If conditions are cool, a light layer is helpful. Arriving early makes check-in and setup easier. A real lunch goes a long way on a six mile paddle, and binoculars add to bird and wildlife viewing. Take time to look up from the boat and enjoy the reflections, sandy shores, late-season light, and the colors of fall unfolding around each bend.
