2026 Texas Alligator Season Opener

Castaway Lodge marks the start of Texas alligator season with an immersive coastal adventure. Excursions head into the remote marshes of Matagorda Island and the surrounding bayous, where quiet water, subtle ripples, and patient waits meet sudden bursts of excitement. It suits both first-time participants and returning hunters. The experience can span the whole day. Mornings center on alligator hunts in prime marsh habitat. Afternoons may shift to fishing for redfish, trout, and black drum or to dove hunts around the lodge, and when timing aligns there are opportunities for early season teal. After dark, the action continues with night vision hog hunting and flounder gigging by light. This community food share meets at the Bus Stop by Dick's. Attendees can enjoy a shared meal and are welcome to bring food or other items to gift. Any donations not given out during the share will be placed in the Free Store. A menu will be provided once it is available.

General Admission is $60 and includes dinner and concert seating. VIP Tables are $600 and provide premium seating for eight, dinner, the concert, and a complimentary bottle of wine for the table.
