"Ann’s Gift: 10 Years of Art and Art Cars at Five Points Museum of Contemporary Art"

A special anniversary exhibition at Five Points Museum of Contemporary Art looks back on ten years of art and art cars, honoring founder Ann Harithas and the museum’s evolving program. Works span from the inaugural 2016 exhibition to the present, joined by a robust display of art cars drawn from the Ann Harithas collection, the Leal Brothers’ City Style Lowrider club, and additional local and national car artists. Artists on view include Noah Edmundson and the Leal Brothers from the opening year, alongside Mel Chin, Jesse Lott, Irvin Tepper, Travis Whitfield, and others. The exhibition also reflects Harithas’s own creative legacy in both studio work and art cars prior to her passing in 2021. Established by Harithas as a gift to the Victoria community where she grew up, the museum resides in the carefully restored former Hobby Abshier Motors building at the Five Points intersection, a three-gallery space that has hosted dozens of exhibitions, artists, and performances and partnered with youth art programs in Victoria. In keeping with her vision, admission is free, and the long-standing tradition of presenting at least one art car per show continues here with many on display.
