Enjoy camaraderie at the start and finish area as Home For Freedom launches its inaugural marathon experience in support of veterans. Participants can walk or run a full marathon of 26.2 miles, a half marathon of 13.1 miles, or a 5K of 3.1 miles, and every finisher receives a medal and a race shirt. The course follows an out and back design entirely on the Wichita Falls Circle Trail to keep runners away from traffic and make spectating easy. The route spans 6.55 miles per segment, similar to the Hachie 50 format. Half marathoners complete one out and back, full marathoners complete two, and 5K participants use a clearly marked turnaround staffed by volunteers. Awards recognize the top three male and top three female finishers in each distance, with additional age group awards for 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and older. Winners will be recognized during an awards ceremony that includes the announcement of names and finish times. A pre-race spaghetti dinner is planned, and packet pickup will be offered there as well as at another pre-race window, with locations to be announced.

Cooler'N Hell Gravel returns for its second year, offering a gritty gravel cycling escape that captures the Texas spirit of the Hotter’N Hell Hundred while skipping the heat of August. Participants can pick from a 100 mile race, a 50 mile race, or a 27 mile casual ride. The course features rural North Texas gravel roads and wide open skies, with well stocked rest stops to keep riders fueled. After the finish, the celebration includes music, an after party, and a post ride meal. A friendly border rivalry gets delicious with a chili cook-off pitting Oklahoma and Texas recipes against one another. The day moves from a draw for cooking spots and set up to on-site cooking, collection of judging samples, public tasting with voting, and a winners announcement. Teams must have at least two members and prepare chili from scratch at the venue on the day of the competition. Only raw ground meats are permitted rather than cubed cuts. Finely chopped onions, peppers, and other vegetables are allowed. Beans are welcome, but no fillers such as pasta, rice, or hominy, and no complete or pre-packaged chili mixes. Each team should make a minimum of one 8-quart pot to support People’s Choice tasting, and a provided cup is used for the judging turn-in. This cook-off does not follow International Chili Society rules.
