The tour meets at The Alexander Black House on alternating Thursdays for a walk through the original 16 Squares of Blacksburg, spotlighting the history and often overlooked stories of buildings and landmarks around town. In the waning days of summer, four-time Grammy nominee Cedric Watson brings an uplifting performance to the lawn outside the center with Bijou Creole. The South Louisiana fiddler, accordionist, and songwriter highlights Cajun and Creole music shaped by African, Native American, French, and Spanish heritage. The set travels from age-old contra dance tunes to contemporary Zydeco grooves, with flashes of bluegrass fiddle woven in. Promoted as the area’s largest toy and collectibles event, this show returns with more than 100 vendor tables featuring diecast cars, RC vehicles, action figures, Funko Pops, Barbie, Pokémon and Hot Wheels items, along with comic books and vintage pieces. The aim is to prevent crisis-driven choices, lower stress and confusion, and help families avoid costly missteps.

A relaxed community walk with Christiansburg Run Club brings people together at the front of the Montgomery County Court House for an easygoing stroll with fresh air and friendly conversation. Families can participate, and kids and dogs are welcome. The walk is open to everyone.
