Attend as often as feels helpful, and feel welcome to bring photos and memories of loved ones, along with any questions or concerns to discuss. No one has to navigate grief alone. It begins with a look at what science says about the nature of time, then traces the intriguing puzzles and paradoxes that appear in tales of visiting the past or future. Wells to The Twilight Zone to Back to the Future, help frame the line between what physics might permit and what imagination creates.

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, eight-session course that meets weekly, created for relatives, partners, and friends of people living with mental health conditions. As an evidence based program, it has been shown to strengthen the coping and problem solving skills of those closest to a loved one. Sessions are led by NAMI-trained family members and blend presentations, guided discussions, and interactive exercises. Participants can expect practical tools for problem solving and effective communication, ways to care for themselves and manage stress, guidance on supporting a loved one with compassion, and help finding and using local resources and services. The curriculum also covers current information on mental health conditions and the brain, approaches to handling a crisis, available treatments and therapies, and the impact these conditions can have on the entire family. The class setting encourages mutual support, shared learning, and encouragement from people who understand similar challenges, and sharing personal experiences may help others in the group. Registration for the series is required so materials can be prepared, and attending at least seven of the eight classes is needed to graduate from the program.

This one hour tour explores the old waterfront in Downtown Lynchburg and traces the city's beginnings. It includes two spirit box demonstrations, information on where old Civil War hospitals were located, and stories about life before the city was established, shared by members of the Monacan Nation. Over the last three years, tours have reported frequent activity in this area.

The 25th Annual Amazing Mile Children’s Run, Once Upon a Run, features kid-friendly races at 1 mile, half mile, and quarter mile, turning the experience into a fun adventure. Before and after the run, families can enjoy a free festival with discovery stations, face painting, and food trucks.

An American Red Cross lifeguard course at the Liberty University LaHaye Recreation & Fitness Center welcomes participants from Liberty University and the Lynchburg community. Over three days, attendees complete the training required to earn lifeguard certification upon successful completion.

A sunset ghost walk follows historic Court Street in Lynchburg. Participants experience a live, interactive demonstration of a spirit box and K2 meter at Monument Terrace across from the former courthouse. Stories include those condemned to the gallows and the determined effort to establish a church. The route starts and finishes at Lynchburg Community Market.

A weekly FNM Booster Draft focuses on The Hobbit set. Each week uses The Hobbit packs and will continue in this format until Reality Fracture releases. Because of production issues with The Hobbit, prizes are set at one $6 booster pack for each win. Entry is $25.

This Disney Lorcana League play session has an entry fee of $8.99. Participants receive a pack from the most recent set for each win, along with promo cards and other goodies. A couple of items are generally raffled each week.
