The September gathering is planned for Rowe Park, and the October gathering is planned for Scriber Lake Park. Part of Shoreline Walks, this free community outing explores neighborhoods, parks, and trails along some of the best walking routes in the city. It is geared toward adults 50 and older but open to all ages and abilities. Each walk is led by a volunteer walk leader, no registration is needed, and leashed, friendly dogs are welcome. This Richmond Beach three parks route spans about 3.1 miles over roughly two hours and is rated moderate with plenty of hills. Cathlene leads the walk. Meet in the parking lot at Richmond Beach Congregational Church. The path winds through the Richmond Beach area and includes the Kruckeberg Garden area without entering the garden, Richmond Beach Playground, and the upper section of Richmond Beach Saltwater Park for the view.

Artists at the Center hosts The Rhapsody Project at the Mural Amphitheatre for a free program of blues, soul, folk, and heritage music. The Rhapsody Project House Band, a professional ensemble drawn from the nonprofit’s board, staff, and students, offers a preview of songs that will be shared with the community at the 3rd annual Heritage Ball. The lineup features Briar on vocals, Ari Whidbey on electric guitar, Lakshmi Sivvakani on banjo, Juan Velasquez on bass, Jed Crisologo on guitar, and John Oliver III on drums. Artists At the Center is a multi year partnership led by the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture and Seattle Center, supported by the Uptown Arts & Culture Coalition and neighboring communities, and made possible through a 10 year grant from Climate Pledge Arena and the Seattle Kraken. The initiative highlights emerging and established talent on the Seattle Center campus, helping artists reach new audiences and advance their work. Visitors can encounter surprising pop up performances, and artist selection is guided by an equity and social justice focus across music, dance, theater, demonstrations, and multidisciplinary art.
