An intimate evening at St Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle brings together YAIMA and Nessi Gomes for a quietly immersive concert experience. Her music holds beauty alongside fear, gives space to longing without needing to resolve it, and lets shadowed feelings breathe without shame. Elements of her Portuguese heritage color the emotional palette, from ache and yearning to persistent hope. She writes to understand herself and sings to remain truthful. Her debut album, Diamonds & Demons, opened the way to sharing her songs internationally in both intimate and larger settings, with an emphasis on presence and authenticity. Presented within the Cathedrals Concerts series by Abbey Arts, a Seattle nonprofit nurturing music, arts, and community since 2005 and celebrating 20 years, this event offers an open floor format with a calm, listening-centered atmosphere. All ages are welcome, with some seating available. Expect a mix of chairs, benches, pews, and floor space around the stage, and feel free to bring cushions or blankets for comfort. Quiet picnics are welcome, while outside alcohol is not permitted. A bar is available with ID, and alcohol sales support local music and nonprofits through the help of local sponsors.
