The camp is process focused and intentionally kept small to allow individualized instruction, specialized materials, and kiln time. New Skater Summer Camp is designed for beginners to build skating skills. Registration is open. The program costs $425 per skater and includes two snacks each day. Children and teens ages 1 through 18 can enjoy a free lunch while staying engaged with summer reading. Meals are provided for on site dining only. Registration is not required, but seating is limited. Offered in partnership with the Hunger Intervention Program.

Enjoy a calm, garden-based meditation led by Zoya Kobets of Prana Path, centered on the theme of Grounded Consciousness. The experience supports reconnection with nature, personal awareness, and community. It opens with a circle gathering, continues with slow, mindful yoga and intention setting, and then settles into a period of quiet meditation. Monday evenings feature paddling races alongside a relaxed social paddle, welcoming SUP, surf ski, kayak, prone, outrigger canoe, and rowers. Courses rotate among several options each week, ranging roughly from 2.5 to 3.5 miles, with the route chosen to suit the conditions. Those who prefer a casual outing can paddle as a group near the race and enjoy the same on-the-water camaraderie. After the finish, participants often gather at the Secret Beach Bar at the Elks Lodge for post-race hydration and food with views of the Sound and sunset. Proceeds support Ballard Elks charities. Neumos presents Man Man, the shape-shifting project led by Honus Honus, also known as Ryan Kattner. Expect a set informed by Dream Hunting in the Valley of the In-Between, the band’s first release in more than six years and its Sub Pop debut, with tracks such as Cloud Nein, Future Peg, On the Mend, Sheela, and Animal Attraction. The album was produced with longtime collaborator Cyrus Ghahremani, mixed by S. Husky Höskulds, and mastered by Dave Cooley, and it includes guest vocals from Dre Babinski of Steady Holiday and Rebecca Black on select songs. Following an unexpected hiatus that began in 2015, Kattner explored scoring, acting, and a range of creative projects before reuniting players to capture a live, organic feel in the studio. Doors open at the listed event time, and the show generally begins about an hour later, though this is subject to change without notice. A summer pinball series unfolds across two Alki arcades, Gary’s Place and West Seattle Arcade, with head-to-head matches where players choose machines at either location and stroll between the rooms to play. Each night features up to five rounds with two games per round, awarding 1 point for a single-game win and 3 points for a sweep. Extra balls are limited to 30 seconds. You cannot select the same machine more than once in a night, and you cannot choose a game that is already in use. The top three finishers receive payouts at the end of the night. Entry is $5 and all ages are welcome, with check-in at Gary’s Place. Points accumulate across the summer, and only your best five nights count toward the standings, so missing a week does not set you back. The top half of the leaderboard advances to the Series Finals, and the finals prize pool increases by $5 per participant each night.
