Three Holy Women Catholic Parish, Milwaukee
    See details

Explore Milwaukee’s Lower East Side on a guided journey that looks beyond Brady Street’s storefronts to the people and moments that shaped it. A later wave of Italian families converted many commercial buildings into lasting neighborhood businesses, including Glorioso’s Italian Market, founded in 1946, and Peter Sciortino’s Bakery, which opened in 1947. The tour also explores the counterculture of the 1960s and 1970s and traces how the street has evolved in recent years. Expect a blend of neighborhood history, cultural context, and on-the-street sights along this prominent urban corridor. Scheduling depends on guide availability.

TRADES5K is a community 5k run and walk that unites the skilled trades to support a fellow trades family. Set on a private Lake Country property, the route follows a quiet country road with scenic views, creating a welcoming place to connect. Built with tradespeople in mind, it also welcomes construction students, community members, and anyone who enjoys running or walking. A donation from every registration and sponsorship supports a family in need, and the experience continues after the finish with food, music, and time to relax together. This year honors Joshua P. Millies, 45, who passed away after a battle with cancer. He is remembered as a devoted husband to Nora and father to Harlow, Reese, and Rowan, and as a dedicated electrician at Next Electric who cared deeply for family, friends, and colleagues. All net proceeds benefit his family. The spirit of the day reflects what the trades stand for... showing up for one another and carrying each other through hard seasons. The event shares the message of Joshua 1:9, encouraging courage and steadfastness with the assurance that God is always near.

At Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co., X-Ray Arcade presents a night featuring Acid Mothers Temple, Magick Potion, and Shadeseeker. Acid Mothers Temple began in 1995 under the direction of Makoto Kawabata alongside the Acid Mothers Temple Soul Collective. Their 1997 debut on Japan's PSF Records earned recognition from The Wire, and in 1998 they launched tours across the United States and Europe. Since then they have continued to tour widely, added performances throughout Asia and in Japan, and by 2017 had released about 80 albums on labels around the world. The group has also collaborated with artists such as Gong, Guru Guru, Simeon of Silver Apples, Nik Turner of Hawkwind, Occitan singer Rosina de Peira, and Japanese musicians including Afrirampo, Tatsuya Yoshida, Maso Yamazaki, Seiichi Yamamoto, and Jun Kuriyama. Magick Potion hails from the rural outskirts of Baltimore and performs as a heavy rock trio with founder Dresden Boulden on guitar and vocals, Triston Grove on bass, and Jason Kendall on drums. Their music draws on the raw energy and weighty grooves of late 1960s and early 1970s rock, nodding to bands like Blue Cheer, The Amboy Dukes, and Budgie, and blends gritty riffs, driving bass lines, powerful drums, and touches of psychedelia. Milwaukee psych rock band Shadeseeker rounds out the bill. This show is all ages.
