DISASTER! The Musical is a comic tribute to the 1970s disaster-film craze. Set in 1979 aboard a New York floating casino and disco, the story follows a group of characters as earthquakes, fires, and a chain of catastrophes threaten the ship and push them to work together. The production features hit songs from the era, including Hot Stuff, I Will Survive, Knock on Wood, Hooked on a Feeling, and more. Presented at Bombshell Studio Theatre, it combines parody, ensemble comedy, and familiar tunes for a nostalgic musical experience.

An outdoor yoga session along the river at the main location, guided by Cathy with Outdoor Yoga MKE, welcomes both beginners and experienced practitioners. An event with the Milwaukee Aquarium Society features Dr. Ron Coleman at Crowne Plaza Milwaukee South. A professor in biological sciences at California State University, Sacramento, he has spent more than three decades investigating reproduction, biology, and behavior in fishes, with a focus on sunfishes in the family Centrarchidae and cichlids in the family Cichlidae, and is widely recognized for his leadership in cichlid research. His aquarium journey began in childhood and included early lessons about compatibility after keeping a puffer with other fish. During his undergraduate years at the University of British Columbia he worked at the Vancouver Aquarium, first handling cleanup duties and later guiding exhibit tours, which expanded his appreciation for the diversity of fish form and behavior. In graduate school at Simon Fraser University, while studying bluegill sunfish in the wild in Eastern Ontario and maintaining tanks in the lab, he observed striking cichlid behavior, including a breeding pair of kribensis keeping several adult Texas cichlids pushed to the far end of a 72-gallon tank.

Half Free: Black Service for Liberty in the American Revolution explores how the fight for independence transformed the lives of Black Loyalists and Patriots who sought freedom through military service, and considers how their contributions have shaped the past 250 years. This free, in-person badger talk is hosted by Brookfield Public Library in Brookfield, Wisconsin, requires no registration, and will not be offered virtually. The speaker is Dr. Sabrina Thomas, Associate Professor of African American Studies at UW-Madison, whose work takes a transnational look at the intersections of race, nation, and war to illuminate questions of citizenship, identity, and diaspora. Her publications include the book Scars of War: The Politics of Paternity and Responsibility for the Amerasians of Vietnam and articles such as Blood Politics: Reproducing the Children of ‘Others’ in the 1982 Amerasian Immigration Act and When War Creates Life: Race, Nation, and Belonging for Children Born from War in the Cambridge History of War and Society in America. She is developing a second book titled The Soul of Blood and Borders: Brown Babies, Black Amerasians, and the African American Response, previously served as an Associate Professor and the David A. Moore Chair of American History at Wabash College, and holds degrees from Colorado State University, Butler University, and Arizona State University.
