    Artist Kevin Knopp reflects on more than four decades of creative work rooted in Waupaca, where he has maintained a studio, exhibited widely, earned an MFA, taught, and worked as a piano tuner, with pieces held in public and private collections across Wisconsin. Using images gathered from travel, selections inspired by the Art Institute of Chicago, and examples from his own portfolio, he will share a personal view of the significance of contemporary landscape painting. Presented in conjunction with his exhibition in the Waupaca Library Gallery, the talk considers how time, nostalgia, place, and social and political histories shape the way we see the landscapes around us. This program is sponsored by Denny and Cindy Wandtke.

    Discount Embroidery Blanks LLC offers a holiday shopping experience where children choose gifts for family, friends, and even pets. Adults register their child and provide spending cash, then relax in a waiting area or browse the storefront while volunteers accompany young shoppers. To keep things moving smoothly, only a few children enter at a time based on volunteer availability, and coloring sheets are available if there is a short wait. Refreshments are provided. Gifts are organized by price and recipient, with options for all ages and genders, and most items are priced between 1 and 15 dollars. After making selections within the set budget, each child visits a wrapping area where purchases are wrapped, labeled, and ready for the tree. Any unspent money is returned when the child reunites with their adult. All ages are welcome to take part.
