Hearthstone's Nooks & Crannies Tours

Explore the museum’s hidden corners on a limited-capacity, behind-the-scenes tour led by Hearthstone’s curation director, Lynne Phillips. This experience enters spaces that are typically closed to the public, while Lynne shares restoration stories and notable findings uncovered during the preservation of the house. Drawers, closets, entire rooms and even full floors are opened to reveal objects rarely on view. For more than 40 years, restoration teams have examined what lies under moldings, pulled back canvas, removed plaster and lifted layers of paint to bring the past to light. Lynne explains how professional restoration works and how it helps present an authentic view of the Victorian era. Tours are limited to 12 guests and take about two hours. Expect to climb stairs across four stories. Tickets cost $15 and are sold exclusively online. An evening edition is available, with flashlights provided.

Pokémon Weekly Tournament at Gnome Games Appleton North

Trainers can sharpen their Pokémon TCG skills at weekly tournaments held at Gnome Games Appleton North. The focus is Standard format play, making it a fitting setting for newcomers starting their journey, experienced competitors trying a new deck, or anyone preparing for a League Cup. Each round win earns a Pokémon Prize Pack, adding extra excitement to every matchup. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome. A rotation for the 2026 Standard format is on the horizon, so deck builders should pay close attention to regulation marks. Cards with a G mark will not be legal for the 2026 Standard format, while H, I, and J will be permitted, along with any future marks that may be introduced. Legality is determined by the regulation mark rather than the expansion, and newly released cards still follow a brief waiting period before becoming tournament legal, typically two weeks after release.

Fare-Well: Art & Death Café

Fare-Well: Art & Death Café is a free art education program that invites open, community conversations about death and mortality through the lenses of history, art, and creativity. Rooted in the global Death Café movement, it provides a welcoming space to normalize a topic that is often considered taboo. Artist and facilitator Elyse-Krista Mische leads each session with a new monthly theme, pairing discussion with a creative art project to show how awareness of death has long informed artistic practice and everyday life. Participants explore how artists and others use objects, symbolism, and creative expression to communicate emotions, ideas, and practices surrounding the passage of time, the nature of vitality, and the reality of mortality. The program encourages meaningful dialogue in the studio, at home, and throughout the community so individuals and groups can fare well together. This free series is offered twice each month, and an RSVP is requested. Year-round presenting support is provided by Kayla Rouse in memory of her parents, Dr. Michael Rouse and Dr. Janet Armstrong.

Gnome Games Appleton North Weekly Yu-Gi-Oh! Genesys Tournament!

Gnome Games Appleton North hosts a weekly Yu-Gi-Oh! Genesys tournament that highlights a streamlined format using the original field size. Entry is $5. Summer Solstice Sound Bath

Honor the longest day of the year with a restorative sound bath centered on release and relaxation. This seasonal moment invites a shift from doing to nourishing, and many use it to set intentions, reset, and align with personal desires. For those new to sound baths, it feels like a gentle retreat for your inner self, supported by frequency and vibration. Everything around us carries vibration, from what we eat to the natural world, and the body resonates with its own changing frequencies. During the session, a variety of instruments is played to disperse stagnant energy and bathe your auric field in supportive tones. The floor carries waves of sound you can sink into. Some tones may feel less comfortable while others feel deeply soothing, and that contrast can signal the process at work. Bring a yoga mat, or rent one for $2 in cash, a lounge chair or air mattress, plus a pillow and blanket. Plan to soak in the frequencies, release what is no longer needed, and welcome fresh energy. Tickets are required, and space is limited.

Intermediate Psychic Abilities Class w/ Kenzie

This intermediate class is designed for those who have completed an introductory course in psychic abilities or already feel attuned to their intuition, and it builds on foundational skills to deepen clarity and confidence. Prior participation in an intro class is encouraged for newer practitioners but not required. The emphasis is on strengthening what is already unfolding rather than introducing entirely new concepts. Participants will expand their channeling abilities, refine message clarity, heighten energetic awareness, and develop trust in their inner voice through active, real-time practice. Activities include reading oracle cards without relying on a guidebook, interpreting impressions that come through feeling, knowing, and imagery, recognizing what the body is communicating, realigning the chakras, and performing cord cutting for personal energy. The group will also practice meditation and channeling, explore automatic writing if time allows, and work with visuals that arise during meditation. Bring a journal and a favorite pen, and consider bringing an oracle deck if you have one. Notes are provided, though the focus remains on experience, practice, and trust. Hosted in person at Aurora’s Apothecary, the session runs for two hours and the fee is $45. All students receive 10% off their entire purchase on the day of class. The presentation highlights how the refurbished engine now takes on a second role with the department as a parade vehicle, a setting for public education, and a catalyst for charitable fundraising. Canine First Aid & CPR class

Hosted by the Winnegamie Dog Club, this hands-on canine CPR and first aid class equips dog owners with practical skills to respond confidently in an emergency. Training covers CPR practice with professional manikins, pulse checks using live demonstration dogs, techniques for responding to choking and providing emergency breathing, assembling a canine emergency kit, when and how to induce vomiting if poisoning is suspected, interim wound care and bandaging until veterinary attention is available, and how to prevent, recognize, and address hypothermia and hyperthermia. The format emphasizes doing rather than lecture, so participants leave with clear steps to follow when a dog needs help. The cost is $45, or $35 for WDC members, and each registration includes the K-9 Medic book. Capacity is limited. No dogs are permitted in the classroom, so pets must remain at home.
