An indie pop and rock showcase pairs headliner Six Foot Blonde with Genevieve Heyward for a night of soaring vocals, catchy melodies, and vibrant live energy. Six Foot Blonde, a Chicago-based six piece, brings a dynamic mix of soulful lead vocals, rich harmonies, slide guitar, and synth textures on their headline "spit it out" tour. Formed in 2020 in Bloomington as an IU cover band, they quickly grew into a tightly arranged outfit. After the 2024 release of "Ask Me How I Am," they toured nationally with The Nude Party and continued building momentum with festival appearances at Summerfest and Paperfest and headline stops in major cities. Genevieve Heyward opens with candid, driving indie rock shaped by a raspy, smooth voice and a focus on honest storytelling. Based in Nashville with Wisconsin roots, she tours widely and recently introduced her debut EP "Sprinkles." She has shared stages with Ethel Cain, Butch Walker, Willie Carlisle, Pat MacDonald, and Gayle, and appears on the newest season of American Idol, where her quick wit and relatable presence earned the nickname "Pickle Girl." Sam Grisman Project returns to Poplar Hall in Appleton with a soulful, roots-oriented acoustic sound. Led by bassist and bandleader Sam Grisman, this improvisation-focused ensemble draws on traditions shaped by Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, and other influential artists. Known for tight musical interplay and dynamic performances, the group’s rotating lineup of exceptional players creates listening-room experiences centered on storytelling, spontaneity, and collaboration. The Point of Jazz is a collective led by graduates of the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point music department. The house band features Kadin Yach on piano, Jessie Crandall on bass, and Colt Maichle on drums. Each session includes a set with a guest artist, followed by an open jam where community members can participate on their instruments. Featured artist Lexie Lakmann grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and began singing professionally at 14. She studied classical voice and jazz at UWSP, received two DownBeat Student Music Awards, and has performed at events including the Riverfront Jazz Festival, the Central/North-Central ACDA Conference, and the Jazz Coterie series. Gunther and Steffen Ulbricht will be at The Frame Workshop of Appleton, Inc., making the first stop of their 2026 U.S. tour in Appleton, Wisconsin. With a limited schedule across the country, this visit offers collectors an opportunity to meet them in person. Gunther is the third generation leading a German firm from the Erzgebirge region of Saxony that creates nutcrackers, smokers, wooden ornaments, and other Christmas decor. Steffen designed this year’s Tour Bird, a Snowy Owl featured on the shop’s website, and it will be available at the event and on the shop’s website.

This community breathwork gathering centers on shared healing at Fox Cities Wellness Center. This collaboration took shape after more than a decade and about half a million miles on the indie folk circuit before the bands finally met, with one conversation quickly sparking the idea that became Rough Romance. Expect a welcoming set of deeply felt songs that balance intimacy with universality and create a jubilant atmosphere. Flagship Romance, the married duo of Shawn Fisher and Jordyn Jackson, brings alternative folk marked by inspired writing, an electrifying stage presence, and an exceptionally tight vocal blend that makes two voices and an acoustic guitar sound remarkably full. The Rough & Tumble, Mallory Graham and Scott Tyler, pair accordions, guitars, ukuleles, close harmonies, and quirky percussion with frank storytelling and finely crafted melodies. Their shows are never the same, and their 2024 release, Hymns For My Atheist Sister and Her Friends To Sing Along To, highlights a collection of personal, unifying, and uplifting humanist gospel songs.

Movie Talks is a welcoming discussion group for film lovers who enjoy revisiting memorable releases or discovering titles they missed. This session focuses on Up, the 2009 animated adventure from Pixar directed by Pete Docter and co-written with Bob Peterson for Walt Disney Pictures. The story follows widower Carl Fredricksen, who sends his house aloft with balloons and journeys to South America with young Russell to keep a promise to his late wife. Along the way they befriend a chatty dog and a rare bird, and cross paths with Carl’s former hero Charles Muntz, whose intentions toward the bird turn ominous. Celebrated widely, Up is one of only three animated films ever nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Attendees are encouraged to watch the movie in advance to support a lively conversation. The discussion meets in the Shattuck Community Room and lasts about an hour. Grammy and Emmy winner John Berry returns to Oshkosh with the 30th anniversary edition of his holiday concert at The Grand at UW-Oshkosh. Explore how German immigrant Henry Stolze Jr. helped shape the Christmas decoration trade in the late 1800s. This program traces the growth of his enterprise, later known as the National Tinsel Company, and highlights how holiday customs expanded in Manitowoc County. The presentation is led by Amy Meyer, who has been with the Manitowoc County Historical Society since 2007 and has served as Executive Director since 2013, sharing local history and welcoming visitors to experience living history in every season. The session lasts about an hour and takes place in the Shattuck Community Room. Participants bring a tray of decorated cookies to be sampled, and voting determines two honors, Best Tasting and Best Decorated. The Best Tasting winner receives a $25 gift card, a helmet and a trophy, while the Best Decorated winner earns a $25 gift card, winter gear and a trophy. This youth babysitting, CPR, and AED course is designed for ages 10 to 15 and runs for eight hours of engaging, skill-based learning. Participants practice childcare fundamentals like feeding and diapering, learn how to spot and reduce common home hazards, and review what to do in choking situations, along with introductory CPR and AED skills. Instruction combines short videos, hands-on practice, and games to build real-world confidence, whether students are preparing to start babysitting or beginning to stay home on their own. Enrolled students receive a digital babysitting safety guide of more than 30 pages before class, a certificate of completion for the babysitting portion, the American Heart Association Friends and Family student manual, and a Friends and Family CPR participation certificate. BEAMING Equine-Assisted Services offers a welcoming program for veterans, active military members, and first responders. Participants can spend time with horses in a peaceful ranch setting, connect with peers, and build supportive relationships through meaningful equine-assisted activities. First-time participants and returning attendees are both welcome, with opportunities to make new connections or reconnect with familiar faces. Private appointments are available by request.
