    Live from the Wonderground: Black Star Drum Line & Forward! Marching Band

    This free outdoor concert in the Wonderground welcomes all ages. Adults can dance and chat, and kids can play and climb while caregivers enjoy easygoing social time in a unique outdoor setting. The lineup features two local street bands. Black Star Drum Line opens, a program that offers Madison youth ages 9 to 18 a creative outlet through percussion, followed by Forward! Marching Band with bold, brass-led sounds. Entry is free, and donations at the door are optional, supporting Madison Children’s Museum and its accessible programs. Tickets are handled at the door only, with no advance registration. Please use the Wonderground gate for entry. Local food will be available, along with alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for sale in the Wonderground.

    The South Central Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO hosts a Labor Day celebration at the Madison Labor Temple grounds. Live music features Hips Don't Lie, a Shakira tribute band, along with the Chris O'Leary Band. Families will find activities for kids including a bounce house, magic shows, face painting, and balloon twisting. Labor-Fest is free and open to the public, with food and beverages available for purchase. SCFL's Community Services Committee will collect items to support students whose families are homeless or in unstable housing, including $25 gift cards with St. Vincent de Paul and Goodwill encouraged, backpacks especially for high school students, markers, colored pencils, fidgets, and African American hair care products.
