The WRHA Beat The Heat August Ranch Horse Show marks the third WRHA show of the season, highlighting ranch horse showing.

Settle in for a one and a half hour cruise on the Lake Lawn Queen, a 76 foot, two deck tour boat with a climate controlled lower level and restrooms on board. Take in wide views of Delavan Lake while hearing about its history and spotting shoreline homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Drinks are available for purchase at the cash bar as you enjoy the charm of this glacier carved, 1,900 acre lake. The outing is ideal for sightseeing, relaxing, and exploring local architecture from the water. Children can take part in a scavenger hunt and receive a captain sticker.

Immerse yourself in a lively juried fine art and craft fair at the waterfront. Expect to browse original work from 80+ artists across many mediums, including pottery, paintings, photography, sculpture, wood, fiber, and more. There will also be food vendors, a kids’ art tent, and a silent auction for visitors.

This is the third and final show in a summer fun series tailored for families and beginners. Highpoint buckle awards will be presented for all age groups at the end of the series.

Form a team of two to four people for a friendly puzzle challenge using 350 piece sets, with snacks provided. Space is limited to the first ten teams who register with Wendy at wfinley@lglibrary.org. After the limit is reached, additional signups will be added to a waiting list in case a spot opens. If your team is registered but cannot attend, please email Wendy so another team can participate.

Two high energy bands power an all 80s celebration at Friends of the Phoenix Park Bandshell in Delavan, Wisconsin. The Electric Cars deliver a tribute to The Cars, with special guest Tragic Blonde Vacation spotlighting Women of 80s Rock. The setlist draws from favorites by The Cars, Blondie, The Go-Go’s, Heart, and Pat Benatar. Presented as part of the free Concerts in the Park series.

Elkhorn Bandshell celebrates its 100th year with a family-friendly bash featuring the lively Georgia Rae Kids Show. Children can sing, dance, and move along to upbeat music and interactive fun. Free kazoos will be given to the first 100 children to help sing Happy Birthday, and birthday treats will be available while supplies last. The gathering honors a century of music and community at the Elkhorn Bandshell.

Families and children are invited to a free Summer Carnival series at Plymouth UCC with crafts, games, activities, and snacks, plus time with friends and neighbors. The festivities take place in the Plymouth UCC parking lot, and look for the tents to spot the event. Everyone is welcome, and there is no cost to take part, whether attending a single day in the series or multiple sessions across the summer.

Knowledgeable guides highlight constellations and the cultures that named them while guests watch for quick flashes of light across the sky from a comfortable vantage on the water. The experience takes place regardless of weather. If clouds or rain limit visibility, the evening features hands-on demonstrations, interactive astronomy activities, and spirited trivia with space-themed prizes so the learning and fun continue. Support for this event is provided by Love, Tito’s. The Perseids occur annually as Earth travels through dust and debris shed by Comet Swift-Tuttle. When those tiny particles strike the atmosphere at high speed, they burn and leave bright trails that create a striking, natural show overhead.

Soak up the sounds of summer at Concerts in the Park. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets for a free, family-friendly concert along the shore of Geneva Lake, with a lineup that spans everything from folk and classic favorites to Yacht Rock, reggae, and more. Music runs from early evening into night, so plan to relax and enjoy the atmosphere at the Brunk Family Pavilion.
