Fridays on the Plaza fills the historic Depot Plaza in Downtown Cheyenne with live performances, flavorful eats, cold drinks, and warm summer vibes. This beloved weekly tradition, supported by community sponsors, is celebrated as Wyoming’s biggest free outdoor music series. Jay Sean appears with Dazid & Real Deal Music for a night centered on chart-topping pop and global hits. The British-born star first broke through in the United States in the mid 2000s and has sustained a nearly 20-year run. He became the first Indian and South Asian artist to earn a No. 1 on a Billboard chart, the first from that community with a No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin rankings, the first Indian and South Asian artist to perform on Top of the Pops, and the first British Asian artist to hold two Top 10 singles on the U.S. Billboard charts at the same time. From 2008 to 2012 he delivered five consecutive Billboard Top 40 singles, including Down, Do You Remember, 2012, Hit The Lights, and I Made It with Kevin Rudolf. In 2016 he returned to UK and European airwaves with Make My Love Go featuring Sean Paul and Maluma, a Top 10 hit in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands, which also secured him the headline slot for the Eurovision finale performance. An upbeat annual day in the park features over 40 visual artists and artisans, live performances by local musicians, and a lineup of well reviewed food and drink trucks. Community Action of Laramie County and Downtown First present a special one day return of the Downtown Cheyenne Farmers Market as the second stop in the Road to the Market series. Expect a lively street market atmosphere featuring local farmers, food producers, artisans, and crafters, with fresh produce and handmade goods creating a bustling community scene in the heart of downtown. The Cheyenne Farmers Market is hosted by Community Action of Laramie County, and each market helps support programs serving seniors, veterans, individuals, and families across the community. Organizers will share more details soon, including vendor locations, parking information, entertainment, and activities planned throughout the day. For this stop, the market will welcome additional artisans and crafters.

Families can get a head start on the new school year at this annual Back-to-School Bash hosted at the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Wyoming. Free essentials and services include backpacks and school supplies, physicals, dental checkups, eye screenings with glasses vouchers, haircuts, and more. All offerings are provided at no cost. The event focuses on preparing every child for the classroom and connecting families with helpful resources. Lunch and activities will be available, creating time to relax and spend moments with the community.

Enjoy an enchanting picnic filled with creativity, tasty homemade fare, and a touch of fairy magic. Spread a blanket, gather friends and family, and settle in for whimsical crafts, friendly competitions, simple group dances, giant bubbles, and a welcoming community vibe. Costumes are encouraged but not required, so fairies, elves, wizards, knights, woodland creatures, and everyday attire all fit right in. This free community gathering is hosted by the Front Range Fantasy Festival and also supports preparations for upcoming festival events. Hands-on crafting is at the heart of the celebration. Make and decorate fairy wings with materials provided, then take them home with an optional small donation that supports the nonprofit. Create jewelry, charms, and other tiny treasures, either to keep or to contribute to the Front Range Fantasy Festival. Two contests invite playful competition. In the Fairy House Competition, participants may enter more than one creation, and entries must be made by the entrant or their family. Use natural, recycled, or handcrafted elements to design cottages, mushroom homes, castles, gardens, tree stumps, or even miniature villages. Check in to register and receive an entry number, judging happens during the event, and prizes are awarded on site. The top three entries receive a ticket to the Front Range Fantasy Festival’s Fantasy Market valued at $10. Selected fairy houses may be invited for display at the festival, and creators are responsible for delivering and setting up their own pieces. Event staff do not transport entries between venues. Fantasy themes are welcome but not required. The Fantasy Cook-Off and Bake-Off showcase beloved recipes from bread and casseroles to cookies and decorated cakes. Participants may enter multiple categories and can compete in both the cook-off and the bake-off. Cook-Off categories include charcuterie inspired by the Shire, main dishes, side dishes, family recipes, and fantastical creations. Bake-Off categories include cakes, cookies, pastries, breads, pies, and tarts. Entries compete only within their category, check-in is required for registration, judging takes place during the event, and prizes are presented on site. The top three in each category receive a Fantasy Market ticket valued at $10. Entrants handle their own food safety and bring any utensils, warming trays, or ice needed for display. Pack a picnic dinner if you like, or simply relax and enjoy the festivities. With crafts, dancing, bubbles, community connections, and lighthearted contests, this gathering celebrates imagination and friendship while helping build a little magic for the Front Range Fantasy Festival.

Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails partners with ACPL to present Read with a Ranger, a kid-friendly session featuring stories, engaging activities, snacks, and discoveries in science, history, and nature. The event is designed for children in grades K through 5 and is hosted by ACPL. It is free and open to the public.

Enjoy an open jam night where musicians can take part and spectators are welcome. Admission is free for performers and audience members.
