Hosted by Club 309 Wellness Center at Lake Martin with Spartan DEKA, this DEKA STRONG challenge takes place at the Wellness Center of Lake Martin in Dadeville. The event features ten functional training zones with no running and gives participants the chance to earn a DEKA STRONG Mark, then continue preparing for DEKA FIT 2026. Spots are limited.

City Market sets up each week at Town Creek Park with fresh produce, locally made products, handcrafted pieces, live music, and activities for families. Vendors create a friendly, open air marketplace where neighbors can shop, wander, and connect. The event spotlights area growers, makers, and artisans, offering an easy way to support small businesses while enjoying a relaxed community atmosphere. Families can browse the booths, listen to music, and take part in children’s activities. Parking is available in the gravel lot across from the park.

Local yoga instructors lead a one-hour session focused on relaxation and a sense of togetherness. The class is held once a month downstairs in the Basement Bookshop. It is open to every body and all experience levels, and there is no cost to participate. Please bring a yoga mat, as the few available on site are very limited. Marking your attendance for specific sessions helps ensure you receive updates and assists the organizers with space planning.

Celebrate the close of summer at Lake Wilmore Park Recreation Center and Pool with the Big Summer Sendoff, a family-friendly gathering filled with activities kids and parents enjoy before the first full week of school. Expect bounce houses, face painting, a foam party, ice cream, and plenty of high-energy fun spread throughout the recreation center and pool. Two-hour sessions are available so families can cool off, play hard, and create lasting memories. Preregistration is required, and admission is free for Auburn residents.

Jenny and the Exes close out their summer mini tour with a homecoming themed dress up party at The Jailhouse at Rock 'N Roll Pinball, joined by Tomorrow's Achiever, Imposter (GA), and Wren. Attendees are encouraged to wear homecoming dresses and suits, with tacky outfits welcome, and to nominate themselves or friends for homecoming king or queen, with the crowning planned during the set. Riders of every experience level are invited to a relaxed, social mountain bike outing at Chewacla State Park. Routes are decided on the spot based on who shows up, and the group typically breaks into smaller packs so everyone can ride at a comfortable pace, from easy cruising to quicker flow. Options often include the CAMP trail at about 1 mile returning to the parking area and the CCC trail at about 3 miles returning to the lot. The ride itself is free, but the park collects an entrance fee. Prior and current military with ID receive free entry. Admission is $5 per person for ages 12 to 61, $3 for children 4 to 11, and $3 for seniors 62 and older. The group gathers in the second parking lot.

This newly added weekly clay studio series for adults is offered at The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art in Smiths Station, Alabama. Across six Tuesdays, participants take part in an instructor guided studio experience that teaches pottery fundamentals through clay hand building. Design, build, and glaze both decorative and functional pieces, bringing each project from first idea to a finished work. Beginners are welcome, and initial enrollment includes supplies along with clay, glazes, and kiln firing. The gallery is a multidisciplinary cultural arts center that houses the studios and exhibit gallery of Sarah West and Michele West, a mother and daughter team with more than 42 years of combined fine arts experience.

Set out from the Lower Pavilion parking lot at Chewacla State Park-Alabama for an adult group trail ride that starts and finishes at the same location. It is intended for riders who are comfortable on trails with a group, the pace and distance are adjusted to the group, and no one is left behind. Riders of any skill level are welcome. Helmets are required with no exceptions, and if someone forgets one, a spare may be available from another rider. Riding at night in Chewacla State Park is permitted by special permission, so participants are expected to follow the park’s night-ride rules to help keep these after-hours opportunities available. Park entry fees apply: individuals ages 12 to 61 are $4 per person, children 4 to 11 are $2 per person, seniors 62 and up are $2 per person, anyone under 4 is free, and prior or current military with ID are free. Participants are encouraged to support local trail work through CAMP membership. Annual dues are $39, membership offers several benefits, and fees are tax deductible.

Weekly clay classes for teens ages 11 to 17 at The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art offer a welcoming studio experience focused on pottery and sculpture. Participants build hand-building skills as they plan, shape, and glaze both decorative and everyday pieces, guided by rotating seasonal themes. Class sizes are small, no experience is needed, and both glazing and firing are included. Open enrollment is available for the back-to-school session. Discover a welcoming pottery wheel series designed for both newcomers and those refreshing their skills. Instruction covers beginner and intermediate techniques with guided practice, peer support, and the creative spark that comes from working together. Participants receive help with throwing, trimming, and glazing functional pieces, and can select up to 12 works to be fired over the span of the series. Intermediate makers may request guidance on handles or lids as readiness is demonstrated. Donna leads a balanced yoga class that blends energizing Vinyasa with soothing Yin. Expect about 30 minutes of breath-guided flow, followed by 30 minutes of calming Yin and a brief meditation, all set to music you can feel. The Vinyasa segment links movement with deliberate breathing so the practice becomes meditative while building strength, ease, and fluid movement. The Yin portion is gentle and accessible to all experience levels, using longer holds to work into the connective tissues and joints of the hips, pelvis, and lower back, typically three to five minutes each. Please bring your own mat and any props you like, such as blocks, a strap, a bolster, or a blanket. The class fee is $10 per person.

Join Auburn Area Community Theatre for “The Spitfire Grill,” a heartfelt, folk-inspired musical about Percy Talbott as she finds herself in a small Wisconsin town. Percy takes a job at the local Spitfire Grill, where the café’s owner, Hannah Ferguson, has been trying to sell for years. As Percy encourages Hannah to raffle the Grill, letters and stories begin pouring in, bringing unexpected hope and possibility to the community. Tickets are $16 for adults and $14 for students and seniors.
