At this monthly members meeting, a respected local artist will share a presentation on their work and creative process and take questions from the audience. The gathering is free to attend and open to all. Light refreshments will be available, and there will be door prizes.

CASA Volunteer Pre-Service Training prepares community members to advocate for local children in foster care. The program begins with an orientation, continues through five weekly sessions, and includes independent online learning to reinforce key skills. CASA staff facilitate the training and provide guidance and support throughout. Participation is contingent upon completing a volunteer application, interview, and screening.

The Goetchius House hosts live jazz on Thursdays, featuring a rotating mix of bands. The music sets an easygoing tone for an evening of good food and good company, with rhythms lively enough to keep feet tapping.

A drop in program celebrates La Catrina with a new theme each week. Activities range from printmaking inspired by José Guadalupe Posada, marigold tea tasting with handmade paper blooms, and Frida style foam flower headbands to papel picado creations paired with traditions surrounding ofrendas. Other sessions feature art made with soil and clay to honor life’s cycles, offerings and customs highlighted by La Vendedora de Frutas with fruit tasting and small basket weaving, and a look at monarch butterflies and their meaning in Mexican culture while creating personal wings. The series concludes with Maria’s Movie Night at North Columbus Library featuring the Disney film Coco, a Catrina mask craft beforehand, and information about Columbus Botanical Garden’s traveling exhibit, La Calavera Catrina. Admission is free for members, and the movie night is free for the community. Spots are limited and pre-registration is encouraged.

Sheryl Underwood brings the I Need A Job Tour to the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, with comedian Kyle Erby also appearing for a live stand-up comedy show.

Presented by Uptown Columbus, this open-air market fills the Broadway sidewalks with vendors from the local area and the wider region. Browse fresh, organic produce, a range of baked goods, handcrafted jewelry, home goods, and unique crafts in a lively street marketplace setting.

Now in its sixth year, this ABKC showcase highlights bully breeds at the Columbus Georgia Convention & Trade Center in the South Hall. Presented with support from Hard Body Bullies and hosted by Senior Judge Errol Bodden and ABKC representative Pearlina Bodden, the program features four ABKC sanctioned shows along with four free Junior Handler competitions. Breeds slated to participate include the American Bully, French Bulldog, Shorty Bull, and Olde English Bulldogge, with the option to add more breeds through sponsorship. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Booth choices include ringside spaces at $200 and regular spaces at $150, each set up as a 10x10 pipe and drape booth with two adult wristbands and space for four dogs. Vendor booths with electrical access are $225. Admission is $20 per adult, children 12 and under are free, and a $15 military discount is available with ID. Dogs without a booth are $20 each, crate space is $20, and every dog must be crated. Puppies under three months are not allowed. Judges will be announced. There are no advance ticket sales, and general admission is paid at the door. A COMU docent leads a guided tour featuring highlights from The Columbus Museum’s permanent collection. This hour-long introduction explores American art and the region’s history through a selection of well-loved objects. The tour is free and no registration is needed.

The 46th Annual Midnight Express features a 5K run, a free concert open to the public, food vendors, and activities for families and kids. Spectators and participants can enjoy live music and refreshments in a festive setting. It brings running and entertainment together for all ages.
