    Prattville's Pop-up Costume Parade

Prattville · Downtown Historic District, 144 S Court St

    Free

A free, family friendly costume walk will wind through Historic Downtown Prattville, starting near Spillway Park by the parking lot, heading toward the Fountain on Court Street, continuing down Main Street to City Hall, crossing at Chestnut Street near The Lyric, then making its way back up Main and along Court Street to finish at Spillway Park. All ages are welcome, from children to those who are kids at heart, with no judging, no competition, and no need for elaborate outfits. Costumes should be lighthearted and suitable for families, avoiding scary or gory themes, violent imagery, realistic weapons, and frightening masks or props. This is a sidewalk stroll and streets remain open, so participants must stay on public sidewalks, use designated crosswalks, and follow pedestrian signals. Children should remain with a responsible adult throughout the walk. Bicycles, scooters, and motorized ride on devices are not part of the event. Leashed pets may join, and owners are responsible for control and cleanup. This is a celebration of costumes, not a trick or treat outing, so there are no organized candy stops or treat distribution. Downtown businesses may be open, and people can browse shops or enjoy festivities hosted by the city along the way at their own pace. There are no floats, vehicles, or formal parade units, only friends, families, and neighbors walking in costume and enjoying the evening together. The gathering is a casual community effort organized by a downtown merchant and is not run by the City of Prattville. Admission is free. Sponsored by Julianne Hansen Fine Art & Pottery.
