    2026 Big Dam Bridge 100 Training Program

    The BDB100 Training Ride Program helps Arkansas cyclists prepare for the annual Big Dam Bridge 100 while building connections with local riders, clubs, and bike shops. Participants are organized by experience and goals for the 26 or 50 mile routes. Group 4 welcomes those brand new to riding. Group 3 suits riders with some experience who want to get comfortable in group settings and aim to finish the 26 mile course. Group 2 is for recreational riders who ride regularly and want to complete the 50 mile option or improve their time on the 26. Group 1 focuses on pacing, fueling, and coordinated paceline skills, with preparation for the 50 mile route and the potential to reach 75 miles. The series features recurring training rides that depart from Murray Park and is designed to build confidence in group riding and a sense of community. Registration costs $50, is limited to 120 participants, and requires a minimum age of 12. Support for the program comes from Spokes Bicycle Shop, Phat Tire Bicycle Shops, Shift Modern Cyclery, Mello Velo, and Rev Rock.     Learn curved piecing the easy way in a Mod Owls Revival quilting class led by Vida. Using the Wonder Curve rulers from Sew Kind of Wonderful, you will practice techniques that simplify curves, so there is no pinning, centering, or snipping... just cutting, sewing, and squaring. Instruction covers building confidence with the rulers, creating smooth and consistent curved seams, piecing blocks without complicated setup, and improving accuracy through careful cutting and squaring. This class is designed for confident beginners. The class fee is $40 and enrollment is limited to nine students. Please bring a sewing machine in good working order, a rotary cutter, 50 wt thread, snips, a seam ripper, the Mod Owls Revival pattern, thirteen one third yard cuts of assorted focus fabrics for the owls and flying geese, five yards of background fabric, the Quick Curve ruler, the Mini Quick Curve ruler, and a squaring ruler that works for 4 to 6 inch blocks. Kits in the featured colorway are available from the shop, and all supplies can be purchased there if needed. The Acorn Pressing Pen with solution refill is recommended.
