Rifle/Handgun Transition $130/3 hrs

This three hour course at Ben Avery Shooting Facility focuses on running a rifle as the primary platform with a handgun as the secondary option. It is not intended for beginners and is geared to shooters already comfortable with both systems, including safe gun handling, marksmanship, and manipulation such as loading and clearing malfunctions. Instruction covers each firearm separately, then brings them together through decision making scenarios and drills that challenge cognitive skills. Training includes working through malfunctions and reloads on both platforms, knowing when to remain on the rifle or transition to the handgun, shooting from behind barriers, moving while searching for threats, switching from strong side to support side, and firing from kneeling and prone positions. Participants must understand the four firearms safety rules and the fundamentals of shooting, and be able to perform basic manipulation and malfunction drills on both rifle and handgun. He holds a leading role in Tyler Perry’s She the People on Netflix and has toured alongside Mike Epps, Martin Lawrence, and Deon Cole. NOIR NIGHTS - A Wine & Cheese Affair

Slip into an evening saturated with low light, rich color, and a slow-building pulse where wine pours freely, cheese boards stay abundant, and conversation loosens as the soundtrack deepens. Early hours feel smooth, social, and gently flirtatious. As the night progresses, the lights fall a little lower, the music grows thicker, and honesty has more room to breathe. No pressure and no expectations, just momentum that grows at your pace. Expect a charcuterie spread styled for sharing, with artisan cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruit, honey, and indulgent accents, plus light bites that invite one more reach. The setting is intimate enough to graze and linger without rushing the moment. Respect sits at the center of the room. Consent comes first, confidence is welcome, and boundaries are upheld. Nothing is owed to anyone, everything is possible, and participation is always a choice. This is a BYOB experience. Bring wine to enjoy complimentary beverage service, or bring liquor and a service fee applies. Ice, cups, glassware, cranberry juice, lemonade, and mixers are provided to keep things flowing. DJ Flight Risk guides the mood as the night evolves. Arrivals happen through a discreet entrance at the back marked by red lights. Parking is nearby, though choosing rideshare is the smarter move. Dress with upscale confidence and a hint of danger. Black, red, or gold, sleek fabrics, sharp heels, and intentional details signal that playing it safe is not the plan. Arrive early and linger. Sip, meet eyes, and let the night take its time.

The band came together in 1979 in Massapequa, New York, uniting guitarist and vocalist Brian Setzer, upright bassist Lee Rocker, and drummer Slim Jim Phantom. VISITORS | CINEMATIC SCREENING

Paracosm Dance brings VISITORS back to Orpheum Theatre - Phoenix as a feature length film, translating its acclaimed stage work into a cinematic experience in a historic venue built for both stage and screen. Friends of the Orpheum Theatre presents a screening captured over two nights with thirteen cameras, drawing viewers close to a world shaped by indie horror video game influences and the daring spirit of dance theater. Alyssa Johnson’s two-act narrative unfolds through contemporary dance, capoeira, ballet, Lindy Hop, and physical theater, guiding audiences from rising unease to outright horror. The piece confronts anguish at the edges of indifference and considers the cost of standing on either side of a closed door. Paracosm Dance is a multimedia company that crafts temporary realities through vigorous movement, blending choreography, score, integrated design, and adventurous dramaturgy into layered experiences that fuse physicality and imagination. The work has earned praise from Dance Magazine editor Kyra Laubacher and from J. Nero-McArthur of BLL for its unsettling power, emotional intensity, and Johnson’s meticulous, fearless artistry.

Curator Talk | Wisdom from the Future

Dr. Ann Marshall, Director of Research at the Heard Museum, leads a 30-minute curator conversation focused on Wisdom from the Future, an exhibition developed by the museum that lifts up the voices and visions of acclaimed Indigenous artists. Marshall will share how insights rooted in cultural knowledge, creative experimentation, and lived experience invite audiences to imagine the futures they can shape for themselves and their communities. Included with museum admission and free for members. The tour meets at the Info Desk.
