Cold Shott & the Hurricane Horns began as a compact blues trio in early 1990, then, guided by founder Ted "Madman" Kowal, expanded to feature a lively horn section. By the late 1990s their repertoire had grown to spotlight soul, R&B, funk, and the blues. With Tony Flores directing the music since 2002, the band brings commanding vocals, fiery horns, and a tight rhythm section. Influences include Willie Mitchell, James Brown, Little Milton, Howard Tate, Eddie Floyd, Tyrone Davis, and Joe Cocker, along with the funk-driven sound of Tower of Power.
