New Kind Palace builds on that evolution, blending warm analog textures with inventive electronic touches and impressionistic lyrics, with a hypnotic current that nods to Arthur Russell and the lo-fi melodicism of The Cleaners of Venus. Much of the material grew out of sessions in bedrooms and other makeshift rooms, much of it captured on quarter inch tape, reflecting a process centered on honesty, experimentation, and facing inner turbulence alongside moments of clarity. The workday is planned for three hours, though watering sometimes finishes in about two. During summer, start times are set earlier to take advantage of cooler temperatures. Bring a water bottle and snacks, wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and long pants, and pack sun protection such as a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Be prepared to move through tall, dry grass. All tools and materials are provided. Activities may be canceled due to extreme weather, and an Air Quality Index of 150 or higher automatically cancels the workday.
