The band is a collaboration between Conneely and bassist Alois Cerbu, who tracked and engineered Sun Child and the forthcoming New Kind Palace themselves. New Kind Palace builds on that evolution, blending warm analog textures with inventive electronic touches and impressionistic lyrics, with a hypnotic current that nods to Arthur Russell and the lo-fi melodicism of The Cleaners of Venus. Much of the material grew out of sessions in bedrooms and other makeshift rooms, much of it captured on quarter inch tape, reflecting a process centered on honesty, experimentation, and facing inner turbulence alongside moments of clarity.
