This weekend in Escondido, CA

Double Peak Challenge celebrates outdoor recreation with a trail experience that climbs to North County’s highest summit, offering wide open views along the way. Wellness in the Watershed is a new four-part series from The Escondido Creek Conservancy designed for adults ages 55 and older, blending mindfulness, meditation, and gentle movement in a nature-rich setting at Mountain Meadow Preserve. Each gathering is held at the Swenerton Education Center, an outdoor classroom and event space where skilled instructors lead guided practices surrounded by the sights and sounds of the landscape. Over the course of the series, participants can experience themes such as yoga with a sound bath led by Sara Ferrer, land-based somatic practices with Mandy McGaugh, breathwork with Susan Tuttle, and qigong with Martha Blane. Participation is free, and advance registration through Eventbrite is required because space is limited. This program is supported by the Prebys Foundation.
