The 22nd annual Napa Valley Ride, Walk & Roll to Cure ALS is accepting registrations. This community event returns to Napa Valley Expo, centrally located in Napa and known as the home of the BottleRock concert festival, offering an inviting and accessible setting to honor the ALS community’s dedication. Funds raised help speed the search for treatments and cures for ALS.

Silog Saturdays at Quickly Benicia highlights authentic Filipino breakfast plates centered on silog, pairing garlicky rice and eggs with beloved morning classics. Makers Market returns to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek with an outdoor street fair celebrating Bay Area creativity. More than 40 local makers and small businesses will showcase their work, including handmade jewelry, pottery, fragrances, candles, bath and body items, crochet, apparel, leather goods, and other artisan finds. Live music from local performers adds to the atmosphere while you explore booths filled with fall inspired pieces and thoughtful gifts. The event welcomes kids and pets, creating a relaxed outing for families and friends. These English as a Second Language classes welcome learners at every level. Sessions focus on reading, basic writing, and everyday conversation, with dedicated time to expand vocabulary and practice clear pronunciation. Learners will also explore the surrounding community and nearby art as part of the lessons. Classes are held in the Library’s Edna Clyne Room. Registration takes place in person during class. Community Cat Advocates hosts an in-store adoption showcase at the Vallejo PetSmart, featuring cats and kittens ready for loving homes. Every animal adopted through the group has been spayed or neutered, tested, microchipped, and vaccinated according to age and time in rescue. They are also dewormed and treated for fleas. As a foster-based rescue, the cats live in home settings when they are not at adoption events, which helps them adjust to family life. Adoption appointments at the Vallejo PetSmart are available for approved applications and specific cats. Community Cat Advocates is entirely volunteer run, with team members donating their time to help place animals in safe, caring homes.
