Friends and families can look forward to an upbeat atmosphere filled with celebration and connection in the Bay Area. This single-night experience puts the spotlight on fun, community, and the spirit of JIGRAA from start to finish.

Celebrate community strength at Fremont’s Quarry Lakes Regional Park as HERS presents a walk, run, and expo that rallies everyday heroes to support people facing breast cancer. Families, friends, coworkers, and teammates can take part together by choosing a 5K walk, a timed 5K run, or a timed 10K run. Every registration, donation, and personal fundraising effort helps provide products that support physical and emotional healing, reminding patients that they are not alone. The day includes opening ceremonies with Elaine’s Circle and a symbolic dove release. High energy warmups get participants race ready. Superhero style takes the spotlight in a costume contest that recognizes first, second, and third place, and capes are welcomed. A lively Community Expo highlights local businesses with giveaways and prizes, along with music, entertainment, photo moments, and activities for all ages.

Mookie Productions and Swiss Park Newark present a family friendly Bay Area celebration of 90s alternative rock, returning for its fifth year with live music, food, drinks, and plenty of nostalgia. Five tribute acts take the stage for an immersive throwback, with SUPERSONIC saluting Oasis, RAGE ON PARADE channeling Rage Against the Machine, PUMPKIN HEADS honoring Smashing Pumpkins, ELYSIUM paying tribute to Nirvana, and CORDUROY delivering The Pearl Jam Experience. All ages are welcome, parking is available, and local food vendors will be on site. Early bird pricing is $25, general pre sale is $35, and children under 12 are $20 with school ID required at the door. Reentry is permitted. Picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis. Folding chairs may be used on the lawn area only. Please note the venue policies, no pets, no tents or canopies, and no outside food or alcohol, and any outside alcohol will be confiscated. Only clear bags are allowed, with small clutches and fanny packs permitted. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the door.

Celebrate community at the EPA-EMP Original Good barbecue, featuring music from a DJ, a $10 raffle for a chance to win a 50-inch Vizio smart TV, and kid-friendly face painting. Guests are invited to support the gathering with cash contributions along with desserts, watermelons, and beverages. Parking has a $6 fee. Runners and walkers can take in shoreline scenery at this returning race from the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. The event offers something for every pace with a one mile family fun run, a 5K, and a 10K, all starting and finishing at the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center, where bay views and cool coastal air set the tone. Each participant receives a commemorative T-shirt and medal, and taking part helps fund the interpretive center’s education and conservation programs. Strollers are welcome in the family fun run.
