Instruction follows methods from Fly Fishers International and the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club, incorporating the FFI Fly Casting Skills Development program and a progression from beginning through advanced levels. Consistent practice is emphasized to develop the feel of the line loading the rod and to gain precise line control in a variety of fishing situations. Farm-A-Versary - August 28, 2026

4018 Canfield Rd, Sebastopol · verified Aug 23
    Free

Lala's Family Farm marks six years since Paula Glogovac set out to grow food, share it freely, and cultivate a space the community could call its own. The farm now features rows of raised beds, an orchard of fruit trees, a lively flock of chickens, and a community stand that invites people to contribute what they can and take what they need. This free, family-friendly open house honors the farm’s anniversary and Paula’s birthday with a full day of hands-on activities. Guests can taste farm-grown tomato varieties, swap seeds or simply browse with any level of gardening experience, and wander the property on a self-guided tour. An on-site chef will serve farm-to-fork bites made with fresh harvests, and casual backyard-style live music will feature local performers along with members of the farm community. Representatives from the Redwood Empire Food Bank and Abimax UK will be available to share about their work and answer questions. The celebration also supports the Redwood Empire Food Bank with a food drive and a collection for monetary donations, accepted directly by REFB staff. Each non-perishable item or monetary gift earns raffle tickets for drawings held throughout the event, with prizes that include Abimax products and other farm and garden goodies. Attendees are encouraged to bring shelf-stable items so every contribution can go straight to the food bank. All ages are welcome. RSVP is requested to help with planning, and no ticket is required. Parking is limited, so carpooling is recommended. Portable restrooms will be available on site.
