This hands-on experience emphasizes learning practical repair skills, saving money, reducing waste, and connecting with neighbors. Assistance is available for clean garments that need mending, jewelry, sewing machines, small appliances such as vacuums, small electronics like radios and lamps, and wooden items. Bicycles can also be considered, and because they require special tools, please let the organizers know in advance if you plan to bring one. Services do not include clothing alterations, large appliances, vehicles, computers, tablets, phones, or any item that could pose a hazard to people, equipment, or the space. Bring items in yourself, remain with your belongings while waiting and during the work, and note that drop-offs are not accepted and only one item is handled at a time. Volunteers provide guidance and repairs without guaranteeing results, they are not required to reassemble items that cannot be fixed, and they may suggest parts to obtain if a complete repair cannot be done on site. You will be asked to sign an agreement before assistance begins, and participation is at your own risk. At Homewood Suites Colorado Springs North, pairs of puzzle fans compete to finish a 500-piece, family-friendly jigsaw as fast as possible. Teams consist of up to two people.
