    Free Improv Workshop

Jaime's Mexican Restaurant, 608 Garrison St, Lakewood · verified Aug 7
    Free

A no-cost improvisation workshop in the Karma House's Headspace centers on story-driven scenes rather than chasing laughs. New participants receive a complimentary drink. Guided by practitioners who helped launch Colorado's improv scene in the 1990s, it blends playful joking and clowning with occasional rounds of 'the game' and explorations of avant garde techniques. The aim is to create narratives and highlight the freedom improv offers to both players and audiences, offering an experience distinct from much of the Denver area's comedy-first approach.

    Brotherhood of the Shell

Jaime's Mexican Restaurant, 608 Garrison St, Lakewood · verified Aug 7
    Free

A free support group welcoming all men offers a place to connect, share, and find resources in a setting grounded in understanding and care. Counted among The Karma House’s longest-running gatherings, it is peer-led and broad in focus rather than centered on recovery or a single issue. Participants can speak openly, build lasting friendships, and talk about mental health, emotions, and life in a nonjudgmental environment. The intention is to challenge stigmas placed on men and redefine strength through community and connection. The conversation is facilitated by Taylor, who is not a licensed mental health professional. He guides the group by creating space for men to offer one another support, feedback, and practical pathways forward, drawing on the unique experiences and perspectives of everyone present. Taylor is a small business owner and advocate for self-development and mental health awareness, and his lived experience with depression, anxiety, and alcoholism fuels his commitment to creating a safe, open space for growth. Meetings take place at The Karma House.
