    Los Lobos

Fairfield · Warehouse, 70 Sanford St

Los Lobos brings its shape-shifting sound to The Warehouse in Fairfield, CT. Refusing to be boxed in, the band threads rock, blues, soul, folk, country, Tex-Mex, and Mexican folk traditions into a voice that is entirely its own, grounded yet adventurous. Onstage, the energy can pivot in an instant... lean and locked-in, then slipping into a hypnotic sway, then turning tender enough to hush the room. The songs carry real heft, the rhythms land with force, and the playing always serves the feeling rather than flash. Listeners who have followed them for years can revel in a body of work that endures. Newcomers often leave won over by what sits at the heart of the show... deep chemistry, discerning taste, and true conviction. In a room like The Warehouse, that connection lands just right. Jon Lampley

Fairfield · StageOne, 70 Sanford St

At StageOne in Fairfield, CT, Jon Lampley steps into the spotlight with a genre-blending set that reflects his path from late-night television mainstay to frontman and songwriter. After 11 years in the house band for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he performed nightly under Louis Cato and Jon Batiste, the trumpeter, sousaphonist, singer, composer, and bandleader brings a sound that fuses jazz, soul, gospel, and contemporary roots. His sophomore solo album, Notes To Self, produced with The Diner team of Jordan Cohen, Clyde Lawrence, and Jonny Koh along with Michael Thurber, pairs reflective lyrics with the joyful, communal spirit that runs through his work, with songs like Greener, JOY, and Maybe exploring ambition, optimism, faith, and growth. Recognized by outlets such as NPR and The New York Times, Lampley co-founded the high-energy ensemble Huntertones and has performed with O.A.R. and Lake Street Dive across major stages, building a reputation as a versatile collaborator who now leads with confidence. Raised in Akron, Ohio and shaped by church music, he learned trumpet by ear and developed a style rooted in connection, intention, and atmosphere, refining his craft at The Ohio State University before settling in Brooklyn, where influences from Roy Hargrove and Louis Armstrong to Sam Cooke and D’Angelo inform an immediate, human voice. This performance centers his evolution as a bandleader, balancing introspective songwriting with the virtuosity and shared energy that define his career.

    Spyro Gyra

Fairfield · SHU Community Theatre, 15 Unquowa Rd

Spyro Gyra, led by saxophonist Jay Beckenstein, traces its beginnings to casual Buffalo jam nights in the 1970s that grew into a band whose name first appeared on a club sign. Early studio work led to New York City sessions and albums such as Catching The Sun and Morning Dance. Through more than 30 albums, the group’s identity has stayed centered on Beckenstein’s saxophone while changes in the rhythm section have steered the feel and fostered growth. In 2024 the band marked 50 years, pointing to technology, open ears and longtime members as reasons the music stays current. Today they function as a genuine ensemble, trading ideas with mutual respect and sharing the load. Beckenstein remains dedicated to the road and to the work he loves.

Caravan of Thieves • Fairfield, CT • StageOne

Fairfield · StageOne, 70 Sanford St

Caravan of Thieves brings its high-spirited acoustic spectacle to StageOne in Fairfield, CT, led by Fuzz and Carrie, the singing, strumming duo who launched the project in 2008. Their sound draws from big band swing, the gypsy jazz lineage of Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France, touches of absurd and macabre theater, and early American folk. The music grew from those first songs to include upright bass and violin, with accordion appearing at times and other collaborators joining along the way. Early momentum led to the debut album Bouquet in 2009 and to appearances alongside artists such as Emmylou Harris, Dan Hicks, The Decemberists, Keb Mo, Tom Tom Club, Iron and Wine, Shemekia Copeland, Punch Brothers, Robert Cray and John Jorgenson, resonating with listeners across folk, pop, rock and jazz. Releases that followed, including Mischief Night in 2010, The Funhouse in 2012 and Kiss Kiss in 2015, showcased their growth as producers, writers and arrangers while widening the mix of styles, instruments and guests. In concert the music shifts from intimate acoustic duets to lively junk percussion and big crowd stomp, clap and sing along moments, all carried by the spontaneous street-performer spark that shaped their early days. They emphasize engaging the audience and collaborating with a broad community of artists, keeping the work vibrant and alive. Over more than fifteen years and travels through several countries, the band and its family of “Freaks” have grown together, with each performance adding a new layer to the story.
