Chrysalis Center’s Homestead Farmers’ Market offers an open-air shopping experience on the main campus, featuring produce grown in Connecticut from Urban Roots and local growers. Visitors can browse a variety of fruits and vegetables that celebrate the community’s diverse cuisines, with La Cocina baked goods available at times. The market is open to all while supplies last, and accepts SNAP/EBT, WIC/FMNP, and Urban Alliance Coupons.

Settle in for a cozy, all-ages pajama-themed storytime filled with songs and stories. Attendees are welcome to wear their favorite pajamas and slippers, bring a stuffed friend to cuddle, and bring a blanket or towel to sit on during the program. No registration is needed.

This free community gathering offers a chance to learn hands-on repair techniques and everyday habits that extend the life of belongings while encouraging more informed choices as a consumer. To help reduce wait times, reserving a time slot in advance is recommended. When registering, include a brief description of the item so volunteers can prepare with the right tools and expertise. While not every item can be restored, the team will make a genuine effort, and participants often pick up practical skills along the way. Small repairs are typically completed at no cost during the event, with payment only for any parts required. If a fix needs additional time or specialized equipment, repair experts will suggest next steps, which may include taking the item to finish the work and returning it afterward. More complex or time intensive projects may involve a negotiable fee to cover labor and overhead, supporting the community and a more sustainable lifestyle. Common projects include small appliances like vacuums, blenders, lamps, and fans, as well as clothing and gear issues such as tears, broken zippers, frayed edges, and damaged pockets or straps. New challenges are welcome for items that can be carried in.

KNOX Farmers Market connects the KNOX Urban Farming Program with the local community and showcases fresh produce grown in Hartford. It offers Urban Farmers a platform to grow their businesses and gives shoppers a chance to support local growers while purchasing food directly from the people who raise it.
