Club Country presents a weekly evening of dancing that blends instruction and social fun. Learn both line and partner styles with guided lessons, then enjoy a DJ-led open dance that runs between segments and carries on through the night. Song requests are welcome during the open dance. The evening starts with a line dance lesson and a partner dance lesson, followed later by a short recap to refresh what was taught before the floor opens again for more freestyle dancing. Admission is $10 for guests and $5 for members. Annual membership is $10 per person, runs from the end of May through the following May, and is available anytime. Members receive discounted entry to regular events, invitations to members-only socials such as a dance barbecue, an ice cream social, and a pizza party, opportunities to help plan and vote on club matters, chances to volunteer as an instructor or run for a board position, and connection with a friendly dance community. Complimentary bottled water, ice, and cups are set out to the left side of the stage, and attendees are welcome to bring their own soft drinks.

ACMA and Island Hopper return to spotlight local songwriters at The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, featuring members of the Fort Myers-based Americana Community Music Association and their original work. Presented in an in-the-round format, Roy Schneider, Anthony Wayne, Bill Metts, Tim McGeary, and Matt Hannam will share songs along with the stories that inspired them. Roy Schneider, a founding member of the Americana duo Reckless Saints, has toured across the United States and abroad for two decades. His achievements include three appearances as a NewFolk Finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival, a run on Season 5 of NBC’s The Voice, and recognition at the Telluride Acoustic Blues competition. He recently released Blue Twangled Folk’n’ Roll with collaborator Kim Mayfield. Anthony Wayne is a Southwest Florida singer songwriter whose roots rock and Americana influences blend memorable melodies with honest storytelling developed over years on Gulf Coast stages. He continues to release new original recordings and videos while performing regularly throughout the region. Bill Metts fell in love with fingerstyle guitar during the 1960s country blues revival. He has performed at the Mississippi John Hurt Blues Festival, the renowned Ground Zero in Clarksdale, the Will McLean Festival in Brooksville, and has appeared multiple times at the Island Hopper Songwriter Festival. He led the ACMA’s weekly Songwriter Circle for four years and favors original material. Tim McGeary of Naples signed with A&M Records in the 1980s and toured with artists such as Billy Idol, Duran Duran, and Simple Minds. His songs have appeared on television series including Smallville and One Tree Hill, as well as in films like The Kiss Me Curse and Girl Got Mo. He now writes for other artists and produces music around the world. Matt Hannam, based in Fort Myers, has performed solo, as half of the duo Another Era, and with the five piece band The Collective. An ACMA member since its founding year, he is also involved with the Hope by Song organization. Advance tickets are 15 dollars, and the price is 20 dollars during the week of the concert.

River Nights: A Night on the Nile offers an elegant evening at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in support of children and families. Enjoy an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, live music, and an auction, all centered on good company and a great cause. Cocktail attire is requested. Proceeds support the Children and Families Scholarship Fund and programs served by the Fort Myers YMCA.

Throwback favorites from the 80s and 90s set the soundtrack at Lani Kai Fort Myers Beach. A beach setting and lively, welcoming vibe create a relaxed scene for classic hits.
