Advance reservations are required and capacity is limited. The ticket includes general admission to Deering Estate during regular hours on the same day as the cruise.     A Deering Estate naturalist leads a guided herp tour through parts of the property that are normally off limits, focusing on reptiles and amphibians found in both wild and urban settings. The experience begins with a behind the scenes look at the estate’s live captive collection, where guests can observe reptiles with scales and shells as well as amphibians, including exotic species such as a red tailed boa constrictor. The meeting point is the Visitor Center. Participants are encouraged to log wildlife observations using the iNaturalist app. Admission is 20 dollars per person for ages 4 and up. Capacity is very limited, and tickets are available exclusively online with no on site sales or walk up entry. Deering Estate Foundation members receive a 10 percent discount by contacting the Foundation office by email to obtain a promo code for use during checkout on Park Link. Expect mosquitoes and other insects. Dress for the conditions with loose long sleeves and pants, use insect repellent, and bring closed toe shoes that can get wet, a flashlight, bottled water, and snacks. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early. The program begins on time, and late arrivals are treated as no shows, cannot participate, and are not eligible for refunds, transfers, or credits.
