The session covers how diabetes affects the body, how it is identified through testing, practical approaches to nutrition and physical activity, and how medications work and when they may be needed. The talk is led by Moira Al-Malt, RN and Certified Diabetes Educator, who brings more than 30 years of clinical experience in pediatric endocrinology and high risk obstetrics, as well as perspective as the mother of a 35-year-old son living with Type 1 diabetes. She focuses on turning complex medical topics into clear, usable strategies for individuals and families. Admission is free. Capacity is limited and advance registration is required.
