This grounds cleanup at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House, the headquarters of MRC between US-1 and the Indian River Lagoon, focuses on removing trash along the property line beside US-1, on the walking trails, and around the stormwater pond. When needed and with advance notice, the work may extend to the shoreline or a focused stormwater pond effort. Volunteers should prepare for Florida heat and humidity. Close-toed shoes, a hat, and sun protection are required, and bringing water is essential. Gloves, trash bags, and trash pickers are provided. A restroom, water fountain, and an air-conditioned building are available on site for breaks. The Lagoon House also serves as a City of Palm Bay public park and a welcome center on the Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byways. This cleanup takes place on the first Friday each month to help keep nearby highways and the trail system free of litter.

This marks a debut appearance at the Viera Park Farmers Market.

Hosted by the City of Rockledge, this free, family-friendly celebration pairs a back to school supply drive with an end of summer party to help local students begin the year prepared and confident. The goal is to equip 250 students with essential materials through community support. Attendees can look forward to games, music, treats, and more. Requested donations include college ruled notebook paper, plastic notebooks in 1 inch and 3 inch sizes, three-prong folders, graph paper, #2 pencils, blue and black pens, crayons, markers, highlighters, dry erase markers, erasers, kid-safe and regular scissors, rulers, sticky notes, notebook dividers, disinfecting wipes, tissues, pencil boxes or holders, pencil sharpeners, and gallon-size resealable bags. Monetary and supply donations are also accepted at City of Rockledge City Hall. Together, the community can help every child start the school year stronger.

Children are welcomed into a playful circle designed to open the heart and spark curiosity through the Munay Ki and Mesa series. The focus is on love put into practice, with gatherings inspired by Peruvian shamanic wisdom. Over the course of nine meetings, children receive a sequence of nine angelic rites, one shared in each class. Attending every session completes the series of blessings. The teacher, Lindsay Hawkins, is a mesa carrier in the Q’ero tradition trained by Shannon Davis and a certified Nervous System Regulation and Mindset Coach. With deep respect for Andean teachings, she holds spaces for healing, empowerment, and reconnection for individuals and families. A mother of 5 year old twins, she is dedicated to supporting the next generation with age appropriate Children’s Munay Ki and Mesa Rites classes that help kids connect with their inner light, strengthen energetic protection, and cultivate a loving relationship with the Earth and their spirit. She brings 22 years of experience as a pediatric anesthetist along with CPR certification, blending clinical insight with shamanic practice to support nervous system regulation and mindset growth, reduce stress, integrate past experiences, and foster greater balance and vitality. Through individual coaching, healing sessions, and family classes, she provides a caring, safe environment for deep personal growth and holistic well being. As part of the City of Cocoa’s work to prepare the proposed FY27 budget for presentation to the Cocoa City Council, this meeting focuses on the preliminary fire and stormwater assessment. It is one of several public workshops and hearings in the budget process. The session is open to the public and takes place in the Council Chambers inside Cocoa City Hall.

The Brevard County Farmers Market takes place at the Regional Pavilion in Wickham Park and features locally produced foods and other agricultural goods, with the focus on edible items rather than crafts or art.
