NPR Fourth FridaySALE || HALF PRICE || Soapmaking Workshop
Discover the craft of natural soapmaking at Moonberry Mercantile and Trading with a hands-on workshop offered at a special half-price rate. The session runs about two hours and costs $69, reduced from the regular $135. A $25 deposit is required to reserve a spot. Participation is limited to 10 people on a first come, first served basis, and attendees must be 21 or older. Everyone will make a full loaf of soap to take home, yielding roughly 4 to 5 bars, about a pound in total. That supply can last for months, and the finished bars make practical, low-waste gifts. Guided instruction covers every step of natural soapmaking with a focus on lye safety. All safety gear is provided, including protective glasses, gloves, and an apron, along with all ingredients and the necessary tools. Participants receive three simple recipes to try at home with detailed instructions, helpful resources, and tips for recognizing a well-made soap. As the batch cooks, the instructor shares the story of soap through the ages, explains in plain language what truly qualifies as soap, and presents a historic formula associated with Nefretiti, including a bar for reference. The workshop also highlights the importance of quality in products that touch skin every day. Because lye is used, plan to be fully alert and follow all safety guidance. Wear closed toe shoes, a long sleeve shirt, and long pants. The workshop is led by Ginger, a self-taught soapmaker with about 10 years of experience. Her journey began with SoapBox, a storefront launched in Philadelphia in 2013 that earned Best of Philly honors twice, and now continues in Tarpon Springs, where she handcrafts soaps, skin care, and cleaning products using only natural ingredients such as oils, fats, butters, flowers, herbs, spices, salts, clays, seeds, and essential oils. American Legion Post 275Dunedin Excursion Summer Ride
Now in its 11th year, the Dunedin Excursion Summer Ride traces a scenic path on the water with air horns signaling each launch. The route begins at the Anclote River Boat Ramp, heads to Three Rooker Island, also known as Teepee Island, for a relaxed break with time to enjoy the water and some food, then continues out along the Gulf to Pelican Point, also called the new Honeymoon Cut. The ride follows the shoreline of Honeymoon Island to the Dunedin Causeway, where participants can anchor and where media may be present for interviews. From there, the group passes under the Dunedin drawbridge and continues up the coastal waterway past spoil islands to a final stop at the Anclote North Sandbar, which is close to the starting point and known for clear water that makes goggles a good idea. A post-ride meet and greet is planned at Whiskey Joe’s. Participants are expected to follow posted waterway signs and ride responsibly. All participation is at one’s own risk, and the organizers do not assume responsibility for injuries or property damage.

The top qualifier locks in pole position and can choose whether to participate in the sprint, and starting spots are then set by a short sprint race for each main. Electric divisions run A, B, and C mains, and nitro divisions include A, B, and C mains, with an emphasis on ample runtime for everyone. Plaques will be awarded to the top five in each class at the finals. Classes include Sportsman E-Buggy, Sportsman Nitro Buggy, Intermediate E-Buggy, Intermediate Nitro Buggy, Open E-truggy, Open Nitro Truggy, and 4WD Short Course. Racers from all brands are welcome.
