Ranger guides share the story of Fort King George, from its early 1700s beginnings through the fort’s six-year garrison period, during a 45-minute walking tour that spans about a quarter mile of level terrain. Meet at the end of the boardwalk by the fort entrance. Regular admission applies, and walk-ins are welcome. Tours are offered daily.

After check in, meet a seasoned guide, get fitted with all necessary gear, and review safety before launching onto a quiet, lightly traveled reach with abundant wildlife, often including bald eagles, herons, and other native species. The paddle wraps up at the Point of Rocks boat ramp, followed by a shuttle back to the campground to change for the afternoon. The experience concludes with a caravan to Big Cork Vineyards for a tasting and tour paired with a cheese and baguette plate.
