Ladd LibraryWalking Tour: Ellis Blvd
Explore the story of Ellis Boulevard NW, which began as a route to the private land of early Cedar Rapids pioneer Robert Ellis. This guided walk follows the stretch from E Avenue NW to Ellis Park, highlighting how it grew into a distinctive mix of homes and businesses in the 20th century and how the “Time Check” neighborhood has changed after the Flood of 2008. The tour is led by Jenny Thielman and meets at The Flamingo. Admission is $6 for History Center members and $8 for the general public. For safety, walking tours are postponed when the temperature or heat index is 100 degrees or higher, or when a heat advisory is in effect. Sponsored by Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust.
